no real surprise there would be more of a shock if he didn't return.

Steadily improved season after season. Best backup in the league IMO

No he isnt Tom lets not let the rose tinted glasses get in the way of reality and that is he is a poor goalie but the best the team want to employ given that he shouldnt get on the ice in a competitive game and the money can be better spent elsewhere...
A meh signing imho but that would be the same for most backups in the league. Unless we had signed someone like Murphy as backup (which would never happen) this position on the team is never going to be star one...

and write the stats on a clipboard! To be honest I think he needs to be honest with himself and look towards the EPL and ENIHL if he is too improve. He will not improve being a back up.
Maybe he's happy. Going into the CHL I fear the back up goalie could become a very big chink in our army. It doesn't take much to lose your number one goalie at all!

I think he's reached his level really, there isn't going to be much else to come. Happy with him as our backup personally, he's not the worst out there.

He's the best player in the league in that role. That's what I'm saying.

And i am saying imho he isnt Tom and even if he was he is not going to get a start from an EIHL club. The only teams that are going with a brit are Belfast who have had the GB no1 for years and benefit from having an extra quality import defenceman (who they can afford!!) and Hull who went for the cheap option at the time with Bowns who has proved himself and won a contract at a bigger club than Hull )who dropped Hull at the first chance of a contract elsewhere). No one is going to offer Green a number one spot anywhere and as stated anyone can be number two as long as they are cheap enough... Imho there are as cheap but hungrier younger brits we could have signed but as usual it seems the team went for the easier option, oh and lets not forget he is related to management, that cant hurt can it!!!

I suspect that the hungrier birts will go the same route as bowns, starting in the EPL, until they get a chance to start in EIHL club.

I was hoping we would go for someone like Mike Will who I feel has bags of potential and could learn a lot from K-Wall. I would have thought Dan would want a starting netminder place somewhere.

At 31yrs old, he's hardly going to try to up-sticks & move elsewhere for a couple or three seasons!
If he wanted to try & get a starter job or have a crack in the EPL, he'd have made the move years ago when he left Basingstoke and was in his early 20's!
Instead he headed to Sheffield & then here & seems happy with his role!
I'd love to see Gospal given a shot, but not for another couple of years, fingers crossed he lands another contract back in the NIHL/EPL to continue his development & get ice time! He has the potential, just needs to develop into a genuine top end Brit!

I guess this means Woolhouse isn't returning!!! It remains to be seen if Woolhouse will even play again after his major injury problems last season.

Would Conway fall into the dual national category?
