Cheers Caesar, I found the format on some BBC page that I wouldn't be able to find again if you paid me, but that describes it far better than they'd bothered to do. Playoff games tomorrow I think.
Women's semi-final day today, USA v Sweden and Canada v Switzerland, be a surprise if it isn't a North American affair for the gold from that draw.

Could do with Austrians, Czechs and Swiss losing. Give all of our boys over there a rest before the real stuff gets going again.

US Women ease into the gold medal match with a 6-1 demolition job on the Swedes. 70 shots to 9, apparently Canada v Switzerland should be on somewhere at 5 our time.

Slovenia beat Austria 4-0 to advance to a quarter-final with Sweden.
Russia and Norway currently playing to see who plays Finland, the Russians lead 2-0 towards the end of the second period.

So the Russian team are to be shot for bringing shame to the country. Wonder if it will be by the Olympic Rings.

USA beat Czech Rep pretty easily (5-2). Canada edge Latvia 2-1, although they did outshoot them massively (57-16).
Sweden v Finland and Canada v USA in the semis.

Rumour from Sochi is that Putin is that unhappy that hes banished the Russian coach to the worst possible fate. Not the Siberian Salt Mines, hes sent him to Sheffield to coach the Steelers for the rest of this season

Shouldn't she be allowed a shot at riffing in the elite league, couldn't be any worse than Darnell or hicks.

Sounds like she's based in the south, the EPL probably fits better for her. Doubt they'd not want her if she was keen.

First medal decided. Switzerland hit 4 3rd period goals to fight back from 2-0 down and beat Sweden 4-3, claiming bronze in the womens event.

Canada beat America 1-0 to reach the gold medal game.
A rather disappointing encounter from the bits I managed to see, had hoped for something to rival 4 years ago in Vancouver.

Too many shutouts in this tournament. The wider ice is awful.
