Canadian roster announced. Nash, Carter and freaking Kunitz make it but Giroux doesn't?!
No Canadian has more points in the past three years than Giroux. Apparently he's not in the top 14 forwards though. Unbelievable.

But then Stevie Yzerman might have more of a idea about it than you. Just saying.
Its still a strong roster not sure who to support. The 6 from Detroit for Sweden , the Russians or Canadians due to coach Babcock and Gm Stevie

I'm very happy Jamie Benn made it. He's worked hard to get there. Also with Nischuskin making it for Russia and Kari for Finland, gives me a choice of 3 teams to follow. Though I dont think I can ever openly support the Russians

Bit surprised they went with Mike Smith, been a bit iffy this year. Glad for him though, especially after Yandle missed out on the US team. Michalek and Hanzal are off for the Czechs, OEL for the Swedes.

Stop trying to get a rise, you've been so much better lately. It's still a ridiculously stacked roster, but there's some damn unusual people missing out. MSL, Giroux, Neal etc... Carter's there for his skating and Kunitz is there for his chemistry with Crosby (product of crosby), I just don't see how Rick Nash can justify his position. He's been awful for the Rags, especially when compared to the expectation. I'm very happy Jamie Benn made it. He's worked hard to get there. Also with Nischuskin making it for Russia and Kari for Finland, gives me a choice of 3 teams to follow. Though I dont think I can ever openly support the Russians Benn deserves it.

I'm surprised they didn't pick Seabrook, he's been playing some great hockey this season! Strong squad though.

Giroux might not be able to play with certain players. Every roster there's players who have been left out you could question.

you know what Herb Brookes did all those years ago he picked the right players rather than the best Ones. Just a thought. Giroux might not be able to play with certain players. Every roster there's players who have been left out you could question. Brooks didn't really have a choice, he took college kids because he had to. He didn't leave behind the top scoring Canadian of the past 3 years and the reigning Art Ross holder. Not like either of those two are known for their disruptive behaviour either. They're both captains! Giroux plays in every situation. He nearly has as many goals as Nash, has many, many more assists, plays far better D, is far more mobile which suits the bigger ice and excels in pressure situations. It is nonsensical to do this. Almost as confusing as Sweden leaving Hedman at home... Bit surprised they went with Mike Smith, been a bit iffy this year. Glad for him though, especially after Yandle missed out on the US team. Michalek and Hanzal are off for the Czechs, OEL for the Swedes. Smith's going for his goalscoring! On an aside, I heard the other day that the Flyers had two offers on the table at one point: JVR to Toronto for Luke Schenn and JVR to Phoenix for Yandle. Sadly, we took the former... Kunitz is only going because of Crosby, not sure why Carter is going. No Giroux or St Louis is bonkers. You could put a flapjack on Crosby's wing and he'd turn it into a 20 goal scorer, you don't need to take the extremely limited Kunitz. Taylor Hall would be a major upgrade on him.

cant believe no st louis. gutted for him.
stamkos is a gamble due to his injury, but if he's fit enough that line will be brilliant.

In fairness, at the time Rick Nash looked an odd call up, as he'd been almost invisible for NYR since the trade, but after call up he's picked up his play and is on fire.

Can't argue with MSL going, but still bugs me about the G omission. Nobody has scored more points since December and only MSL has more points since the last Olympics...

If you've got a PS4 there's a BBC Olympics app that has many live streams at once.

I thought Russia and Germany had already played? Saw a tweet that the Ruskies were 4-1 up earlier. Was it 9pm Sochi time?
