Some of us are a little too young for that mate! It's been a steady decline ever since the first day I've supported us!

Twitter is hilarious at present; the chant against Panthers next season is "1 in 56"

After all this time I'd convinced myself I'd never see it. I still can't quite believe it, I've been walking around in a teary daze. Nottingham Panthers League Champions is the phrase I've been waiting to hear for 20 years. Waited in a beloved old Ice Stadium through into the arena. Waited through hundreds of Stef's announcements (religiously scribbled down). Waited through cup finals we've won and cup finals we've lost. Waited through the ticker tape Challenge Cup final fiasco. Waited through Texpef's cyncial rants (especially about Greg Hadden). Waited through drinks with the Bunkers Hill Mob. Waited through the worst of times. Waited through jumping into Jono's arms like an 8 year old schoolboy when Robert Nordmark scored just to get us in the Play Offs. Waited through defeat after defeat in fruitless journeys to Sheffield. Waited through Keefe just being flat out ridiculous. Waited through comparing every netminder to Trevor Robins. Waited through sitting on the back row in Coventry with all the Ellis family through another miserable Skydome loss. Waited through all that Steelers success and as many owners as trophies. Waited through the wild faces of Shaggy (sometimes when things were going bad and sometimes when they were going very good...same face Shagster! ) Waited through car journeys with Milkman into Shuff, driving the M5 to and from Cardiff with Cat and Ted (and the rain storm we almost died in on the way to Basingstoke) and the commute from Birmingham with Ian. Waited through Premak, Adey, Lambert, Hunt, Tait, Waghorn, Weber, Blaisdell, O'Connor, Durdle, Dallman, Laxdal, Robins, Hadden, Kolesar, Zukiwsky, Garden, Leach, Willis, Carlsson, Drouin, Struch, Jinman, Wallenberg, Bazza, Paek, Levers, Cadotte, Cruickshank, Craighead, Tessier, Cote, Clarke, McAslan, Myers, Neilson, Bergin, Meyers, Galbraith, Richardson, DAB, Kowalski, Francis, Fox, Graham and Ling. Waited since that first night in February 1993 when an 11th birthday present was tickets to the Panthers... How I wish tonight I could have a good drink with everyone, not least those friends we've lost along the journey, this is for them too! NOTTINGHAM PANTHERS, LEAGUE CHAMPIONS. Andy mate, what a superb post. Made me laugh and made me cry (again). Will hopefully write something more considered about what this means tomorrow but for now...after 33 years.....YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS.

well done to the team for bringing the holy Grail to Nottingham , Watched it on web link tonight , laughed at Gary Moran taking the wee out of the presenters name mistakes , did not think the link that Hicks company and the order of supplied kit by him for panthers use had a huge influence in the referees decisions tonight and uncalled for over the commentary to say it on air for all to hear maybe a case of bringing the game into disrepute . Garys nicked our Cup......shut up David and put yer dummy back in .

Compared to you I'm a newbie but Andy's post captures the emotions of several generations of Panthers fans.

Just wow.
this team have been thoroughly brilliant this season from back to front, and not forgetting the management and owners who have resourced the club to become what it is today. only the mere 8 years for me today, but still 8 years too long! the feeling still hasnt quite sunk in but seeing the elation when Benedict passed to Galivan to roof from in front, and then the sheer relief, as Francis was being hassled, pulled and pushed as he scored the empty netter - was amazing. I'm so happy the old "maybe next year" line has finally been put to bed, we've done it, and theres no doubting we've deserved it. I couldn't be happier right now.
Nottingham Panthers 2012-13 EIHL Champions - sounds good, doesnt it?!

Thirteen years I've waited for them to bring that title home and they finally do it the year I'm living on the other side of the world, the bar stewards! I'm genuinely sad I can't be there but over the moon nonetheless! I hope there's a #77 jersey in the NIC rafters before I get home.

Been a while since I posted on here but may I offer my heartfelt congratulations to the Panthers on this mammoth achievement. I don't get nowhere near as much as I used to but having followed them avidly since they returned to Nottingham in the early 80s (like many on here) I am personally chuffed to bits upon hearing this news. This is a great day for the Panthers loyal following.

You guys were the best team all year and richly deserve this. Many congratulations from the Giants fan base.
By the way, the only reason that the Panthers get so much stick from people is because your organisation, infrastructure and team scare the life out of us. Many are simply jealous.
Enjoy the celebrations.

I have a hangover this morning and I can assure you it's not from celebrating.....You winning the title has made my headache even worse. ;D Anyway, congratulations on your title, you've clearly been the best team this season and thoroughly deserving of the silverware. At the start of the season I thought we might just edge you out, but whilst your star signing scored goals for fun, I think ours had eaten too many Big Macs during the summer. Enjoy your day! Regards Doom

They've released a t-shirt with "Nottingham Panthers - a league champions 2012-13"
I am buying this t-shirt because we've been there, we've done that and you're damn right I've got the t-shirt
But this also makes me wonder: is this the start of the Nottingham Panthers dynasty? Is coach Corey the catalyst to the Panthers success as Gretzsky was to the Oilers? Yes I know they wen the Stanley Cup and its a little different but on a comparative basis, could we dominate for a few years now?

I thought to myself a few years ago if we could break our duck and take the title then we might see a few more roll in afterwards... heres hoping, you can take back all the CC and play offs we ve won , all ive ever wanted is the league, last night this TEAM made me a very happy man . Its funny back in september how the likes of Gallivan, graham and beckett weren t impressing me , but credit for corey in having the confidence they woud come good !
