Could be some good stuff or could be a bit of a shambles.
I'm hoping for the fans that have bought tickets that they get 2 decent games with full rosters on display.

Looks like we could be short of a few imports this weekend bad from a team perspective, but could be good to get our brits the extra ice time and fitness conditioning for match fitness. hope its entertaining for those that have bought tickets, i have zero interest in the outcome personally. be nice if K wall has a good game.

Only bought a ticket for the Saturday one. Will decide after that game whether to bother with the Sunday one.
Be nice to see a different team.

Thanks to our resident pixel pusher NottinghamMatt for sorting out the image (and the Asiago one).

Got my tickets for both games today, first of all got charged £32 pounds, then £26, then £20.
Bearing in mind I am a student (17) season ticket holder the price should have been £21 before the weird discount came into play, dont know what the boz office was playing at really.

I'm coming back from London 2012 as a Paralympic GamesMaker for these two games, as I'm on shift for the following weekend when we play Hull which me & H would go to.
I DO hope they are good, competitive games but ultimately, I've found the close season very very hard. I've only been watching hockey for 2 seasons - how quickly the addiction takes hold!! ;-)

How many imports will we have? (I'll expect an answer in tomorrow's NEP).

Im not being funny, but surely the club must have known about the new visa/passport processing taking longer to come through nowdays. It must have been possible to ensure all the imports would definitely be here for these games if they were flew in a bit earlier? So it may cost a few more days to put them in accomodation, im sure the club will be making plenty from these 2 games!

It must have been possible to ensure all the imports would definitely be here for these games if they were flew in a bit earlier? It isn't, with the olympics and now paralympics plus the fact that all visas now go through one facility the process has been very slow for all teams and there is absolutely no way of helping this. Cardiff are missing 2 imports, Clan are missing 2, Panthers are missing 4?, I've heard Giants are missing many as well as well as teams like Fife and Dundee still waiting for players to get visas although they did sign their players at a later date. On the Asiago game like I said in the other thread they would have had all their players signed up and just announcing them day by day like they have been. The Panthers twitter account tweeted the other day 'The Asiago roster consists of 22 players, 3 of whom have NHL experience along with numerous Italian national team players'. We better hope we are lucky enough to get more players in or we could be on the receiving end of bit of a trashing from the Italians

by my reckoning, Luma should be here before weekend but ive heard nothing of the whereabouts if Ling, Graham, Fox, Benedict, Werner will be here, all look doubtful, yet sheffield have managed to get all their imports in the country in plenty of time

Blimey, we'll get a right doing.
I can see how Werner and maybe Ling are struggling having been quite recent signings, but didn't we sign Foxy, Benedict and Graham ages ago?

What you mean Bill, is that GM better hope we get a few more players in,or he's gonna look a right plonker having bigged up the "Italian job" when we get hammered by a team with a full roster. Then he may regret not doing his job by taking his eye off it to disappear on a months holiday to his French farmhouse at an important time, when he should have been chasing guys and their paperwork up.
After all,he's only had most of the summer off,but then again, give it a week or so and we will all be reading in the match programme "how busy he's been" !
Our roster was signed ages ago apart from Tuma, they should all be here by now no argument, especially Fox and Benedict. If players got paid starting from when they got here then they would be here already !
If you landed a new job starting on the 1st Sept, would you go in by choice to start on the 15th of August knowing you wouldn't get paid for those first 2 weeks......er no and neither would most people !

There is no chasing guys and paperwork up, once you have applied for the visa which all players would have done as soon as they could then it is out of your hands completely, there is nothing you can do. Also the players don't have a choice, the club assist them in getting the visa and know when they have applied and when they have got it and when they get it they are almost instantly booked a flight. If I got a job and had to do a week or so training for free so that I am able to do that job then I would do it! What you are sort of suggesting is that these players are somehow lying to the club about when they applied for their visa or when they got it and that is very disrespectful. Going from Jordan Fox's tweets for a day or so ago 'I wonder what I missed with the panthers today If I don't get my visa soon I will lose my mind #needtohitsomeone' and 'Get me out of here I'm losing my mind #misstheroom' it would seem he is desperate to be in Nottingham ASAP

Maybe Bill, but as for Foxy,if he hadn't mucked up his visa application again, just like he did last year, then he would be here by now.
It's a bit like when Jade Galbraith messed his up on purpose because he didn't fancy a few days of yomping around Derbyshire with a rucksack on assault course with the army.
Strange isn't it how these things seem to happen......Foxy's hardly likely to tweet "great i can have a few extra days at home cos ive stuffed up my visa again" is he now !!

One wonders if there is a special visa channel for soccer players as they don't seem to have visa issues very often?
