I think Ling will stay here for another season. If he doesnt, I would love to pinch Henrich from the Blaze, the way he sets up plays reminds me closesly of Ling.

Apparently, a lot of chat in the Elite League box yesterday about a new ice pad being laid at the Wembley Arena as part of the Olympic Legacy arrangements, and there being a viable Wembley / London club operating from there within 2 years - and Mr Black wants to be a part of it!
Would be good for the sport if it happens - it needs a strong London presence to get noticed by national media. Plus, we could have Play-Off weekend back down at Wembley - sweet!!

Be good to have the play-offs back at Wembley. Not so sure the same guy owning 3 clubs in the same league is a good move?

Be good to have the play-offs back at Wembley. Not so sure the same guy owning 3 clubs in the same league is a good move? You know it takes more than just happy thoughts and good intentions to get a team up and running in London right? Neil Black is the only ice hockey team owner who has form with regards starting a team from scratch and maintaining one as a going concern. He has also stated many times the importance of having a London team for overall league exposure (which is pretty undeniable) and the willingness to be involved with its formation. Yes, one owner of three teams isn't ideal but Braehead and Nottingham have managed to survive as independant entities. There has been unsubstantiated fan gossip and an outburst from a spurned player but nothing of substance.

Which current team is gonna make way for a new franchise? Hull or Edinburgh would be my favourite geuss. They'd probably have to be called Wembley Lions though.

Kevin Bergin off to Braehead - not in a playing capacity, but part of the off-ice staff!

I heard from a very reliable source when in Latvia with GB about London coming back into the league in the not too distant future. Some good things about improving the standards of the officials involving referees from other countries, and video replays.

I think one could assume that Matthew will go to Cardiff, he gets married in about 4wks and his wife is looking for work in the Cardiff area, a big loss to us and he is going to be hard to replace. I would imagine with winning almost everything this year some of the guys may wish to move on to new challenges. Hopefully not too many of them.
