I know this sounds odd, but hockey changed my life.... and I'm not kidding! Before August 1999, I was a complete stay-at-home Billy-No-Mates I remember meeting that dude for the first time. And seeing him again after 3 years in Hull, it never amazes me how although people change they still look the same as they did in your memories. On the same lines, AndyD will always be the young un who slept on my floor on the way to far away games. Tony The Wam struggling with his birthday pint in Belfast, while Chris E was ordered to bed by his mum (good for you lucy) at 25 years old. Quality. I was hammered, but refused to go to bed till I had finished my pint of Guinness (I think it took something like 3 hours to drink!)..but drink it I did. Then around Stoopid-O-Clock - I proudly slam my empty pint pot on the table & proudly announce ''G'nite all''. At least my mom didn't order me upstairs. BBC journo's aint what they used to be. Chris Ellis?. He's NO Kate Adie!! Happy days!

And Tony walking around distributing them to the players - getting called 'Poper' by the players because he was wearing a #4 Pope jersey........ finding out that when you got a few drinks into Clayton Norris you just couldn't shut him up, and sticking him & Belfast Sarah into a corner to chat away happily (which they did for HOURS)........ me & Belfast Sarah plus the two Panthers netminders being the last ones left at about 4am..... ;D

Ha, ha, I didn't order him to bed - he went of his own accord. But don't forget though to ask him about the bathroom sink/bed ;D There's something about a trip to Belfast which is so different to any others

Pasi Hakkinen ''I vunt a geeeeeeeeeness too'' 'Lucy' - I swear you DID at least 'try' to order your way-ward son to bed. Words like ''C'mon now Chris..this is getting silly. You should go to bed'' As me & him tried to have a bet to see who could stay up the longest. I of course beat him hands down

There's something about a trip to Belfast which is so different to any others Yeah, Guinness by the sound of things Oh yes, the memories.... I'm no Guinness drinker myself, and given what happened on our first trip to Belfast, that's probably a good idea! Poor old Slate overdoing it somewhat, and when we were all tucking into the pizzas we'd got from this place near the hotel at something like 2am, he was sitting on this park bench just holding his unopened pizza box... I'm not sure if the box EVER got opened! ;D And another bittersweet memory from that trip... I was sharing a hotel room with the late, great Steve "Ginger Monster" Elton, who had consumed a staggering quantity of Guinness (and more than a few whiskey chasers!). This had an unfortunate effect on his innards all through the night (no details! ) and when it came to leaving the room the next day, we were just heading out the door when Ginger said "wait a minute", dashed back in to the middle of the room and let off the most enormous 'bottom-burp' ever. Then calmly walked out with an angelic grin on his face and said, in a conspiratorial tone of voice, "little present for the maid..." ;D Great trip, great memories. (RIP, Steve... )

I'm now positively looking forward to Panthers' trip to the North East after this weekend's reports. Will be just the third time to see 'my' team this season and I'm looking forward to seeing this dynamic new team with fire in their bellies, also looking forward to my first looksee at our new nettie.
Also looking forward to seeing some of the old faces who make the trip up.
Merry Christmas everyone! ;D
