How many imports are you allowed in your team (that includes bot EU and non EU players)
as panthers have 11 at the mo (as i think Tvrdon has been temporarilly deregistered (or is still registered but doesn't count as he is not playing)
but i have checked londons team and according to there website they have at least 12 imports and possibly 13??
Now i thought the EIHL rule was 11 imports?? (this year?)

maybe with possible nhlers coming to these shores the rules have been temporarily loosened because alot of these offers are just to good to refuse, for the clubs and the league its self

they wouldn't losen the rules (would they (well this is EIHL here ;D)
but i doubt it as it is just unfair as some clubs look more attractive to better players than other e.g london because its the capital.

London have 11 imports. Macintyre is deregistered while nicholls is over here. Pope has been cut and halloun will be making way once macintyre came back

i still have them as 12 imports with out McIntire
so who else has been deregistered??
other than Mcintyre (sp?) don't know how it is spelt note the two different speelins i have used )
as with out pope, mcintyre, and with Halloun, Cairns and Nichol i have them as 12 imports still

nah there are only 11 imports registered at the minute with Mcintire out
but halloun has been taken off slough list of players now so does that mean they have relised the mistake??

Using the wonder that is www.hockeydb.com I have determined the following London players are imports: Cornish Robinson Moria Vickers Halloun Pope Gouett Daigle Tremblay Maxwell Nichol Cairns That looks like 12 imports to me and not including McIntyre. Naughty Naughty Racers

In that case there is 11. I was just going off the list on the EIHL website. On Hockey DB it doesn't actually give a place of birth for Cotton but since he's only played over here, I'm guessing he is British.

ah well I dunno then. it might be worth looking at the rule book a bit closer regarding what is and what is not an import.

With regards to being an import. You an have a british passport, be ellagable for team GB but still be an import. Take our own JC. He is now technicaly a brit. He will Ice for Team GB (Seen as the main man pushing for his new passport was mcsorley)
If I am not mistaken i think it is where you learnt your hockey (went through the junior ranks) that determins your hockey origins.

You've got to have played 2 years in junior hockey in the UK i.e from under 10's to Under 19's.
Personally I think the brit rule is wrong.

Seriously guys ... why don't you just phone us up and ask us instead of these silly posts?
The import rule is so obvious and easy to spot that we'd have to be very, very clever to trick people.
We've got 11 imports currently icing with Ian McIntyre currently out with injury, similar to Tvrdon.

Ahhh, RS now we have your attention... What is the view on the possible disciplinary action down at your end? Likely to happen or not? FAR too busy at work to phone... ;D

I'm not expecting any action at all.
Analysis of the rules shows that we haven't broken any ...

If I am not mistaken i think it is where you learnt your hockey (went through the junior ranks) that determins your hockey origins. I happen to agree with you Warren. Ashley Tait is classed as British as he came through the juniors etc over here although he was actually born in Canada.Same applied to Randall Weber,I believe. The one point that confuses me,though is this. Surely by now Steve Moria must be classed as dual-national given the amount of years service he has given the british game?? correct me if I'm wrong on that one please.

Ashley Tait is classed as British as he came through the juniors etc over here although he was actually born in Canada. His Dad (Gavin) is English, his Mum is Canadian.
