For those unable to make it to Basingstoke on Sunday, we have a bit of a treat for you.......
The Nottingham Lions are hosting Billingham on Sunday, face-off time 7:15pm, and due to various scheduling issues, are going to be in the main arena for a change! ;D All are welcome - adults £5 and kids £3 - with the chance to see some of the up-and-coming Nottingham players in action, including those such as James Cooke who have been training with the Panthers. Those who were at the last game will no doubt be pleased to know that the newly-popular King Size Lion Bars will be making a re-appearance, as will the swanky new Lions pin badges.
There will also be a juniors game (U14s, I think) in the Main Arena beforehand..... sorry, I'm not sure what time face-off will be.... so there's also a chance to see some of them in action (and for free, I believe - not bad!).
Please come on down and support the future of Nottingham ice hockey!

So now you're saying you'll be able to watch the final period, maybe more, but you said this a minute ago... i probably would't even be able to see half the final period while i am there. I'm confused. Can anyone help me out on this one?

I wouldn't even try to get any logical answer Shaggy Maybe not.... but I have to try. The Lions have a very small fanbase, ridiculously small given the number of ice hockey fans in Nottingham - despite the fact, as several fellow Cage-ites have proved, that they can provide plenty of good entertainment and attract 'new' fans. As one of the Friends Of The Lions, one of my jobs is to try to change this...... but to do that, I need to know why people aren't coming.

I guess it's just the Panthers are THE hockey team in Nottingham... I'm a fan of football & I support Forest, but just because I enjoy the sport, doesn't mean I have any desire to go and watch the 'Pies play. Sports fans are a funny bunch when it comes to team allegiance

id recommend going to a lions game to anyone.i have been going over the last three seasons and the lions are playing great at the minute i went to see them play kingston jets recently and it was really good game the lions have some very talented players and they give it their all for the whole game by going to watch them you are investing in possible future panthers/team GB players

We don't manage to come to Lions games as Linz has to take Cam (his son) back to his Mum's for school.
I would love to come but can't really justify the 15 miles there and 15 miles back on Saturday and Sunday.......

We've got a couple of spare rooms - stay Saturday night with us then you don't have to go home.
