Going to Basingstoke on sunday where would be the best place to park my car, any suggestions would be welcome, thanks. Basingstoke ice rink is in the middle of a retail park with restaurants etc, and plenty of car parking all around. I try to park on the left as we enter the retail park, but anywhere is within a couple of minutes walk.

there's fletcher gate ncp and another. both are right near each other and 5 minute walk from the arena. think they do a special rate on sundays. something like £9 for whole day i think it was. that was along time ago though. i'll be walking through both car parks in about 10 minutes so ill check prices on the way through and let you know tomorrow if no one else has by then

I only had to pay £2.70 for 4 hours parking in Fletcher Gate last Tuesday but was charged £12 in the same place for 7 hours on Sunday Given that I only use the car park when all the on street freebie spots are full, £12 was a major shock! twix

Park before then and you pay the hourly rate.

If its possible, park at the Forest, tram to the arena (Lace Market and a 3 minute walk), buy a Tramrider ticket, £2, all day travel (you could go an hour or two earlier and have a shop), and get the tram back when done. Least cost option so far, if nothing else. Last tram back is 23.12 to the Forest. Also may be useful for anyone who struggles with cost or availability of parking on a normal home game night. Just an idea.....

Dont know where your driving in from, but you may want to catch the tram to the Lace Market. The car parking, where available is free, and the tram costs about £2.00 depending on where you get on

Wembley Lion, If you are who I think you are, I believe you come from Newark way??
In which case the tram is out of your way really...
I know that you weren't keen on the Station car park.
And if your going on the SC coach you won't get back until late so there won't be any trams running anyway?
I have an idea but it might cost you a pint - PM me or come to see me tomorrow night if you want to hear my suggestion!!
