Looked incredibly comfortable all game. The result was never in doubt. Good all round performance from pretty much the whole team. Could have had a few more but to be honest we were never pushing that hard.

All in all a good weekend for the Panthers, picking up 4 useful points.
Nice to see Curtis getting a shut out at his old rink.
Hopefully this'll give us the momentum to steal a win in Belfast ...

A few more lines since Match of the Day's over now...
MoM for Curtis. When he had anything to do he did it well.
Difficult to single out anyone other than him with the shut-out as a contender as they all played well as a team. Caddy looks a totally different player to the beginning of the season, great work rate and total commitment. Oh yeah and the new boy's something special, great game playing in defense again. Him and JC seem to work very well together.

Wow!!! That was SUCH a different team from the one I saw at Bracknell a few weeks ago Did someone swap them for the real players for tonight? Wigwam said on another thread that the team spirit in the locker room was the best its been for a long time and that certainly seemed the case out on the ice tonight. I've not seen a Panthers team play so well AS A TEAM for a long long time. It was wonderful to see passes finding their mark time and time again, and guys looking happy out there. McKenna is awesome, I was raving about him on the way home! He was all over the ice, yet hardly seemd to put any effort into getting from one end to the other! Cruickshank is as fantastic as I remember him - one Bison supporter told me that they want their goalie back - sorry, he's ours! Matt Myers seems to have settled down well and is a valuable player - time and again I saw someone hurtle into the thick of it and realised it was him! I can't see much wrong with Cadotte apart from the fact that he's now on a team of players as good as him so he doesn't stand out so much. Craighead impressed time and again - it was funny when Clarke scored the second, only a few seconds after Craighead's had been washed out for the goal being off its moorings. Craighead punched the air and said something like "Take that then!". The rest seemd a good, solid team. Finally, a word about the fans - thanks for all coming, it made the place a lot warmer! Also, I thought we made a lot of noise tonight which was good!

That's all good to hear Lynne - sounds like the lads carried on from lastnight. Can you confirm the goalscoreres as Ricci, Clarke and Kalmikov? I was at the Lions game and have heard various combinations of scorers so far! Everyone says Ricci scored - what sort of goal this time - not another wrap around effort surely?

By next saturday i think we will have 5 games in hand on the steelers. and about 2 or 3 on other teams,
if we take them all and get that result over turned we will be in a very good position.
hope i haven't just jinxed us ;D

A slapshot I thought though he did end up with the puck behind their goal at one stage and was a little unlucky to be kept to a single goal.
I think Vogel might have been unsighted for the first couple and the third was a well set up tap-in at the far post for Kalmikov. Craighead was denied a goal as the net came off it's moorings an instant before it was judged to have gone in.

After a few people have been doubting him since the start of the season i think it should be said that Krulis had a preddt solid game last night too from what I saw. I haven't see every away game but from the games I have seen thats prolly his best performance. And as already stated JC and McKenna did really well last night. Was a good night all round really, especially fun when helping Wigwam Ambush their mascot so that he could shove a Coffee cup over his Horn ;D and watching him get told off for lurking about in a staff only room was funny too

Just to echo the reports to date - a solid performance from the boys throughout the game. McKenna is a class act.
Did anyone notice Caddy's skates? He seemed to be having major problems with them towards the end of the first period and during the second period.

A great team performance - I reckon we had ten of our players with a goal or assist over the weekend.
And yes - it is the coldest rink I've been to.

My musings on last night's performance, for what they're worth.... This was only the second game I've seen this season owing to being exiled in the big smoke. A funny game that never really got out of first gear. To be honest it verged on boring at times. Not sure whether my tiredness was caused by the hockey or overdoing it at Roger Sanchez on Saturday Bison were very unimpressive. Few ideas going forward and their PP was even worse than ours. Ewasko is a complete prat, all very Perry Doyle. They certainly got the rough end of the Curtis/Vogel switch, not that it was a 'switch' per say (sic). From our point of view, I'll start with the negatives. Krulis was a liability. Complete disagree with the earlier poster complimenting him. If that was one of his best performances so far, oh dear. I wasn't impressed by Marek Ivan either. Trying to boss the game without really the Jinman/Drouin/Dorion skills to do so is problematic. Not interested in passing, how he didn't give it to Kalmikov when the entire goal was gaping, I don't know. In turning to the positives, Craighead was pleasing. It took the disallowed goal to really fire him up, but I can't fault him for the performance overall. I also thought Myers impressed all night. Working hard, being strong, good puck handling. The stand out player for me, bar one mishap was Ricci. Not the goal, (pretty flukey) but in his defensive duties. In a sort of Garth Premak/Jim Paek hybrid stylee he really bossed it, giving them nothing. Spent a lot of the evening trying to suss out these 'personality clashes' I read about on here but obviously my emotional intelligence needs developping as I couldn't really work it out. Alternatively whoever it is has sorted it out.........?

Seen as the games were back to back I will give my opinion as an overall view.....
Curtis played a blinder (both games) I don't blame him for the goal. If we had a lessa able bodied Netminder we would have conceeded more than just the one.
When McKenna dropped back in the second on Saturday I can safley say that 3 out 4 d-men played calm and clever hockey. If a pass went astray it still went "Safe".
I will say the offesive find for the season, for the panthers will be Kalmakov. he always finds space for himelf, finds players in space and isn't greedy.
Ivan is a disapointment. He had a belter of a couple of games but then has dwindeld. He is always looking for the roof of the net, not the open space of the goal. At present his logic seems to be running... Shoot, beat the man and then shoot, Look for a shot, take it round the net to see if a shot is there, Tired so I will pass it.
The brits did us proud. Richard has come on leaps and bounds. if he improves at this rate we will have another face in Team GB before the end of the season. Thoughly deserved the goal and assist.
I will say though, Craighead looked like he deserved the Panthers shirt both nights. He had a goal taken from him on Sunday but it didn't apear to phase him. Reading his lips after the goal seconds later, he enjoyed it as it was the team getting justice. He and Mckenna were joking all weekend. The highlight was a Saturday night in the 3rd. Mckenna played a rink wide pass to Craighead and it went behind him. Craighead turns round, retreives the puck and plays it back to Mckenna. I don't know the excat words but it looked like "Try again" Mckenna obliged and the look that Craighead sent Mckenna was a blantent "thats better"
Craighead also thanked Myers for a cracking pass that he missed on Sunday.
My final comments from the weekend is.... A. Who's organiseing the whip round so we can afford to keep Big Steve? B. Who can we loose to keep big Seve?

Must disagree with Warren, as I've said on here before ,two things are a known fact in hockey are shoot the puck at the net and good things happen, the best pass in hockey is a rebound,if we tried it more on power play might be more successful, second goal was down to JC shooting Clarke tip in.
