In Nottingham, allways nice to see
Fancy our chances this year?
What would you take,
Playoff's Challenge Cup League
I think we have waited long enough for the league but Playoff's in own hometown would be sweet.

Hmm, would have preferred a weekend in Manchester, but i'll take Notts!
Nice to see a third place game taking place, has been missing in recent years.

Agreed, I've always liked the idea of going away to a Play-Off weekend, but theres no real other alternative at the moment it seems. Manchesters too big for the fanbase the elite league has at the moment. So Nottingham is a good choice, and i can't wait. Third place game is a very good inclusion, the 'challenge' games always seem to lack somthing. 'We're at home this year, so maybe we can finally win the Play-Offs' - How many times will we be able to keep saying that

i think that is good how they have made it an expanded play-offs (it means you can't have a couple of good games and go through)
and also how we will have a third place game as well ( i am sure it will be played just as intense as the final as well (hope we get there now)

Hmmm not overjoyed about the 3rd place playoff game - they are usually lacklustre affairs. Playing for 3rd place is a non-event in a playoff championship. The press release makes it sound as though there will be the Planet Ice Shield game and the U20 International as well as the 4 EIHL playoff games. A total of 6 games in the weekend? Certainly hope they keep the U20 International, that's usually a good game.

We should probably remind the league that 40 Euros is a decent price of 6 games in a weekend not 80 quid ;D

All this is going to cost a fortune - 6 home games, 6 away games (if I go), then the extra games at the Finals Weekend.....
Blimey, we'd all better start saving up for it now!!
I do hope the Elite League folks make a big effort with the Playoffs Weekend this time - I thought it was pretty poor last time - the tent was a shambles, nothing much do between games....., though the games were good.
Bring back Wembley, that's what I say - God that makes me sound old !!

the actual play offs games sound good, but i hope they make it better this year. get the olympic rink shut off and fill that with stuff to do(like the year before but a few more stalls and things to do), not just a shabby tent that was jam packed.
with 6 home and away games that they are wanting us fans to pay for i hope they do make it alot more better. am guessing as its my first season with a season ticket but thos e6 extra home games wont be included in the ST and it only saves you the seat untill a certain date before it goes on general sale???

'We're at home this year, so maybe we can finally win the Play-Offs' - How many times will we be able to keep saying that You've been saying that for last 4 or 5 years but you never know stranger things have happened. I'm glad the play-offs are at the NIC it's the best venue because it's not too big and not too small. It's also in the city centre so people can go out for the night after the matches. MEN is far too big because there just isn't the fan base anymore, and Sheffield, much as I would like it there, is not really in the best of locations for a weekend away.

In that case, you'd better hope that there's some rescheduling going on..... because the EIHA website has two junior games scheduled for the Olympic Rink on Sunday 10th April (U12s and U16s - both Nottingham vs Sheffield). Personally, I wouldn't mind having the juniors around at the same time - more people taking an interest? - but I suppose that it depends upon the logistics of the whole thing.

This is where I start hoping that the Panthers 'do right' by the season ticket holders.... I know we can't expect to get into any of these games free on the season ticket, but I would hope that we'll get a discount.....

theywill still have those games i bet, just instead of the public skating, and they will have the tent thing outside again.

I know all steeler ST holders get a tickect for a playoff game for each game that has been moved to planet ice.
If memoy serves thats 4 games that have been moved so in essence all Steeler ST Holders will get there playoff games "in" with there season tickets.

I know we can't expect to get into any of these games free on the season ticket, but I would hope that we'll get a discount..... Well we did have 28 games last year and we did lose 3 games this season because Manchester dropped out (taking us back to 25) so we might get those 4 games on the ST, that would make 29.. Though I won't hold my breath. Maybe the 4 games for £25 would be a nice touch.

Hmm, lets hope the organisers of the Nottinghamshire Knitting Championships or someone dont want to hold their event at the NIC, or we could see Mr Geoff 'I really am a fan of icehockey - honest' Huckstep trying to rearrange the playoff.
After all how far up the list of priorities do ice sports come at the National Ice Centre??

well remember they get some funding off sport england and ice hockey isn't even on there list.
i guess it come pretty much last.
i mean if there was a skating championship then on and A panthers Vs steelers match on it would surpise me if that match got rearranged for about 100 people.

You already get a discount on regular season games, and will no doubt be given the option of having your regular seat for the play offs. How about 'doing right' by the people who go to the majority of home games but don't have a season ticket for whatever reason? If the season ticket holders get a discount, that means the rest of us will be subsidising your tickets!
