WHAT A PUCKING SAVE FROM CRUICKSHANK. TWICE
the best on was the one that was tipped and he gloved it.
Tell me again why Cruickshank is not On the cards of an NHL team?
Plus who picks MOM?
Cruickshank should of got it by a country mile.

I agree, Cruickshanks is "the man". Also, great start for McKenner Just off topic - anyone know the reason why Ivan skated straight off the ice at the end instead of joining the team in parading the ice?

I found this strange, as during the game i thought we played as a team together.
Then i see Ivan skate off on his own? Weird.

I hope I dont dissapoint any rumour mongers but he took a knock just before the end, played on, but I guess he was starting to feel the effect so needed some ice on the knock. HL

Plus who picks MOM? Cruickshank should of got it by a country mile. Ricci was well overdue a MoM before tonight. Goal scorers and goalkeepers tend to catch the eye with spectacular efforts and so get MoM awards. Players who do a solid job week in week out without the need for the spectacular tend to get overlooked. A case of rewarding Ricci for a whole series of solid performances so far this season. Looks like McKenna could be in the same mould - a solid team player who just gets on with the job without being spectacular. Ricci and McKenna - a damn fine defensive pairing for the EIHL I must say!

If it wasn't for cruickshank AGAIN ;D we could of lost this one too Ahhh Tim, I thought you understood the game better than that. Goalie makes a couple of spectacular saves and you have him down as MoM. The likes of Ricci goes out shift after shift and quietly takes a forward out of the play before he can threaten, positions himself to stop passes being made, sees threats to our goal and snuffs them out before they develop. Over the course of the game he prevents more goals being scored than the goalie does, but because he doesn't make a spectacle doing it, you don't notice him and would rather give MoM to the goalie for a couple of spectacular saves.

but those saves were not just saves where the netminder makes it look spectacular by waving his arm in the air (e.g P.Roy ) they were truly world class saves.

Who was that other player a few seasons back who always used to skate straight off the ice for good luck after a game ? Or was he shy ? Jason something ? Ex-Bracknell player ? I could be pulling random facts out of mid-air now. Can't remember his name.

Just looked on Pete Walch's history site to find the name. Jason Mansoff. Always skated straight off at the speed of light after the final buzzer. Odd chap.

Well, continuing with the toilet-needing theme, maybe it wasn't skating straight off that brought him luck... Maybe it was not visiting the facilities for the day before the match

Just off topic - anyone know the reason why Ivan skated straight off the ice at the end instead of joining the team in parading the ice? Well from where i sit (above the tunnel of the home bench) Ivan looked really p***ed off when Steeler's called there time out. As Adey was talking to the players and chose who was going to ice, he didn't give Ivan the nod. Maybe he was a little annoyed as he wasn't given the chance to continue his scoring streak. Thats my view on the matter anyway Have to agree that Ricci deserved MoM. He makes defending look so easy.
