In one of our next few games we should start with Woolhouse in net.
Basically because it will show how much they need to defend and how they can't rely on Cruickshank all the time. (even though Woolhouse is a very good yound netminder he isn't in cruickshank class) and this will show them and hopefull force then to defend as a team (like it did last season)

No-one "go off on one"!
This isn't the worst idea ever!
I don't think it will happen, but it would definatley be a wake up for the "D-men"

Edinburgh would have been an ideal opportunity. Perhaps Adey should be looking at the Lions- Ihear they've got (at least) on good young D-man who could step up. BTW, GM says in tonights' NEP that Mad-dog had a problem with his skates last night.
I reckon the problem was who was wearing them ;D

I see where you're coming from...it worked in Cardiff last season, Wooley came close to a shut out, and although I wasn't there I seem to remember those who were saying the defense pulled together to protect him.
It could be a wake up call...

it wouldn't destroy him as he knows that he has a bag of ***** in front of him half the time pretending to be his defence.
we have won 2 games against EIHL teams it won't make any differnce which netminder we start with other than making the defence realise and hopefull adey that we need a defence to win things.

Good call, possible, against teams in BNL no offence to them or The House.
But then again you could change the D instead of the N/M?

Good grief! Here I am actually agreeing with Tim...... ! Gotta go lie down in a dark room. Not tomorrow though, please, but you are right, the D do take more care with a back up goalie in. Wouldn't like to say which game though, just NOT tomorrow!!

Our D could'nt look after themselves, well two could and when their tired out what would happen,we would be overrun.

After advocating for Davey Lawrence to get a game last night for the Steelers (which he didn't, and Platt got a shutout) I would be all for a Lawrence v Woolhouse between the pipes for tonight's game! It aint gonna happen, but I think both these guys deserve a chance to play, just they are held back because the teams and coaches are Scared to play them in case they lose an edge over the opposition (even in the crossover games!) I think Tony Hand has given McGimpsey a game or two now, and other teams have used their back-ups a bit. Shame that Panthers & Steelers aren't willing to take even a small chance, and probably won't do until at least half the season has gone or injury forces them to. Edit for spelling and to add: I think the Steelers defence played a lot lot tighter when Lawrence played last season, I think a inexperienced netminder probably does help teams out defensively.

I've been perusing your back catologue of posts Wembley Lion ... you're in danger of becoming the Forum's most negative contributor (and that's no mean feat considering some of the opposition!)

Call it as I see it no one shouts longer or louder than I,and I never have goes at my team when there on the ice, all this on here is just my opinion,so if they put in as much effort as they did tonight everything will be fine but cant stand non triers not just sport but in life just me I suppose teams earn respect same as people, if my views differ dos'nt make me negative nor right. So BJ perhaps we'll meet some day over a few pints and we can discuss this great sport. until then hope we carry on where we left off tonight, all the best . WEMBLEY LION.

On a slightly more diplomatic note, I think what the Steelers fans are gonna have to wake up to is that a Blaisdell side is a quite different kettle of fish from a non-Blaisdell side. The Steelers are not a Blaisdell side any more which means they arn't hard-checking and can't regularly pull off miracle comebacks when they've gone a couple of goals down. That was the impression I took away from the game yesterday. Made me smile ;D

Gawd knows what your posts will be like if we dont win the Elite League, Challenge Cup, and Play Offs LOL HL

Calling it as you see is commendable, unless of course you only see the bad and cannot open your eyes to what's good. no one shouts longer or louder than I Glad to hear it ... long may you continue to do so and have plenty to happily shout about! all this on here is just my opinion And of course, you're entitled to it ... but surely you can voice your opinions of what's positive within the club (there is plenty!) once in a while ...? cant stand non triers not just sport but in life just me I suppose teams earn respect same as people, I too despise lack of effort in all walks of life. if my views differ dos'nt make me negative nor right. I wasn't inferring that your views were wrong but pointing out that you often only feel the need to voice your opinions in criticism, rarely in praise ... So BJ perhaps we'll meet some day over a few pints and we can discuss this great sport. I hope we do WL ... sincerely. I dare say there'll be plenty of opportunities to do so ... until then hope we carry on where we left off tonight, all the best . I'll drink to that!
