Great season & a fantastic series against BOS; Lots of positives about this current squad, so I'm not too upset about the result in all honesty.
I think inexperience simply lead to losing that series; it's a prime example that teams should finish off the opposition when they have the opportunity. TOR simply stopped skating at 4-1.

Great series - probably the best of the first round by a long way. The maple leafs shouldn't have even been playing in a game 7 let alone a minute away from progressing. Expectations will be high next season IMO

Playoffs will be expected again for sure; I think they have a decent amount if cap space too so hopefully they can add players via UFA.

Blimey, what a way to go out Still, least you were in it to begin with. The better team lost the series, but that's irrelevant as BOS progress and TOR doesn't. Absolutely brutal end to a great season.

It's no sleight to the Wings, it's just that the Hawks are damn good. Arguably better than when they won the cup.

Agree . We re pretty banged up now after a tough schedule travelling wise back and forth from California . I wasn't expecting us to progress past the ducks as this is like a transition season with some of the kids we ve been dressing

Penguins through in 5, finishing with a 6-2 rout.
Rooting for the Rangers but the way they've been playing (inconsistently), Pittsburgh would have them for breakfast. Boston would more likely keep the series close but I still can't see past Pens in the east.

Boston have been good but Pittsburgh are on fire, so I expect to see the flightless birds in the final.
Blackhawks vs Kings could go the distance, I think.

This has been the most boring play-offs of all time.

This has been the most boring play-offs of all time. Certainly one of the more predictable, that's for sure. I would mostly disagree on boring though - there's been some decent highlight reel moments!

It's been boring. Particularly the LA games. As soon as someone goes in front, game over.

Hasn't it been a mix of good & bad, just like any other year?
Boston/Toronto was a bit of a cracker... Sens/Habs got fairly interesting. Blues/Kings wasn't bad, and the Pens/Isles series got a bit unexpected & interesting.
And then in the second round... I've just finished watching the Wings/Hawks Game 7 - that's been a good series, and a tense one. And What about Pens/Sens? - Ottawa coming back with a last-minute shorthander to tie the game and then win it in double-OT? Doesn't get much more tense than that... Some good stuff there.

Sure, there's been the odd good moment but this is the play-offs, that's an absolute bare minimum. The refereeing has been horrendous, the clutch and grab is back in a big way and there's simply not been enough goals. I like smart defensive hockey as much as the next man - but there's a limit.

Although you can never be sure in advance, it does seem likely that the Western final series may be a fairly low-scoring affair... but the Eastern final series promises to be somewhat explosive! Both in terms of goalscoring and... well, 'incidentals', shall we say?
