I've decided that the time has come to get a name on my shirt. Mrs. BlackburnHawk is going to take it to the Arena this Friday (12th Nov.) to get it done. Problem is, I'm still not sure who's name to get.
I've got a good idea (close between 6 !!!), but wondered if you were in my position (and I don't mean sat in the spare room on the PC !), what name would you have ? Please try to ignore your favourite player and just give your opinion on anyone who, from a purely playing point-of-view, is 'doing it for you'.
I may ignore all your comments (!) and go with who I've got in mind anyway, but thought it would be interesting to get your views.

you could try and be funny and have BIG MAC#21 on the back ;D Or just simply "I'm lovin' it" ;D I'd go for McKenna at this moment in time ... the guy's awesome! And who knows when you'll next get the chance to have such a calibre of player's name printed on a Panthers shirt?!

I opted for Ricci #9 - no surprise or regrets there! McKenna #21 is going to be a huge temptation - he is such a class act.... Ricci or McKenna? Hmmmm - no good, just have to get a second shirt and get one crested up for each of them!

I'd go for Clarke on the back. Although Ricci and Mckenna i agree are top class and played extremely well i think that Clarke has been amazing, he's improved so much. He put sin more effort than anyone out there and i reckon ina few years he'll be the best player in the league.

Thanks for your Posts so far.....everyone's thinking along the same lines as me !
The 6 I'd narrowed it down to are:
Clarke Ricci Kalmikov McKenna Cruikshank Ivan
(I would have included Craighead, honey12, but daughter #2 proudly sports his name and I want somebody different).
About 3 weeks ago I would have definitely had Ivan, but just recently he's slipped in my 'ratings' ! I've actually, in my mind, narrowed it down to 2:
#19 #21
Kalmikov has improved with every game and can't stop scoring at the moment but, as mentioned, McKenna is quality and, as BJ and MP say, will there be another opportunity to get the likes of him adorned on my back (if you know what I mean !) ?
It's got to be Kalmikov.....oh, I don't know.....you've a few more days to help me out !!!

I'm thinking of getting one of my shirts done for the first time too.
Was originaly thinking ahout it int he 2003 Challenge Cup final when I said to myself that I was gonna get the name of the match winner on the back if we had won, but we didn't. But using that theory I guess Kimmy would be a good one to go for, but at the same time I have sponsored Clarke on the brick in the wall thing so thinking I should go for him. Craighead and Kalmikov are no no's for me cause you pay for latter don't you and I am skint this month!

What about Carlsson #77 ?
Has had a few seasons with us now in diferent stints so has been a good servant to our club.

Well I had Warren #17 on my back strangly enough! as for cost, Curtis does almost warent a bank loan, I paid for the wifes! I however got my printing for free.... They botched the numbers on my left sleeve but it is only a minor botch so I don't care!

just give your opinion on anyone who, from a purely playing point-of-view, is 'doing it for you'. She doesn't play ice hockey I'd go for McKenna at this moment in time ... the guy's awesome! And who knows when you'll next get the chance to have such a calibre of player's name printed on a Panthers shirt?! I'd go for Cruikshank for the same reason. And he's more likely to be with us for the whole season.

I think I'm pretty set on Clarkey, although I love Myers as he skates his socks off every game and usually makes me laugh for one reason or another every game. Craighead is class, but generally I don't have tough guys on my shirts (Loewen excepted). Wouldn't have McKenna as he's only been here five minutes. It reminds me of all those Tvrdon shirts that turned up before the player did !

Im going for 77 Carlsson on my shirt. I think he's been great this season, im just waiting till i can afford it so i can send it off to Cardiff to have it done like the players. I was thinking of 21 McKenner, but nobody knows how long he is going to be here for, and if he's gone by christmas then its still on my shirt for the rest of the season.

This is an honest question, so don't think I'm taking the pi$$...of which I never do ;D
Does it actually bother people having a jersey with a players' name on it, who say has either joined another team or retired?
And if so, why?

I got Ahlroos this season in commemoration of 60:53.
I still have my Struch shirt from last season, don't wear it much though as I prefer the Cardiff lettering I got this year (last year it was done a la NIC) ... but I'm grateful of the time he spent with us and all he achieved, I would welcome him back any time too ... maybe I'll wear it on Sunday for a change.
YP still wears her Pietila and Koivunoro shirts ... I guess she's as proud of the memory of their time with the club as she was of them when they were here ...
