They should consider selling stuff, as suggested earlier, like pasties, sausage rolls, paninis heated up in a microwave or something - those burgers are nasty.

I know this would never happen, but wouldn't it be great if they franchised out some of the kiosks, like at the shopping centres (Meadowhall and Victoria Centre etc.). That way we could have Pizza slices (Pizza Hut), Pies and Pasties (Don Millers), Jacket potatoes (various), Coffee (Starbucks - the players would approve of this ), Ice Cream (Ben & Jerrys) Baggettes (Upper Crust. Non of these require anything other than ovens or microwaves, so should pass health and safety issues. Just an idea.

Point made, i like the idea p.g.f.i made about putting a penny in a box at sheffield, it would give us £60, but if we just put a spare £1 in, it would buy us alot of george fornby lean mean fat reducing grilling machines:P it may sound silly about complaining about they're food but something has to be done, people get hungry and thirsty at panthers, and most people i know don't want to pay theyre prices, so they go to a shop during the intervals, it is basic business sense to drop the prices, MORE PEOPLE would buy from them instead of somewhere else

Hey, I got some ice last night with my Coke - was well plleased !!!! You mean they've put the ice back on the menu and aren't charging extra!!! Thought they had withdrawn it last Saturday whilst having a policy meeting about dual pricing for soft drinks with or without ice

Apparently they can't do chips at the NIC because they're not allowed fryers upstairs. Health and safety? I just thought Sheffield Arena has fryers up stairs dont they ?

Sheffield do have fryers in the food stand, but it is a much older building. The NIC simply wasn't designed with fryers in mind, and it would be pretty impossible to (economically) retro-fit a suitable extraction system to the food area. Shame really, there is little I like about the HOS, but that chicken and chips is excellent! As for the burgers and hotdogs at our place, there is little to add to what has already been said, other than they make even vegetarian food look attractive

If they don't have fryers, how did they used to cook the potato wedges?...
...and why did they stop doing them?...
...and why are they so damn clueless?

Personally speaking, a toaster would do as well as a fryer. Toasted ham and cheese sandwich I think you should become director of catering at the NIC Twix. Toasted sandwhiches sounds like a good idea - certainly a sight more palatable than the current burgers and hotdogs seem to be. A cheese and ham toastie might even persuade me to eat something there. There shouldn't be any problem with cooking them either. Ideally they would be made using proper toasters but there are commercially availlable products which can be cooked in microwaves. Not as good as proper toasting but more likely to appeal to the caterers. There was a review of catering at the NIC last year but nothing has ever been said as to the outcome as far as know, and things actually seem to have got worse. There was also mention of alterations to the T&D bar to improve it I seem to recall though again not much seems to have happened. Perhaps I should ask Geoff Huckstep what happened with regard to the catering review to see if there is any hope for future improvement.
