i miss that song why don't we sing it anymore?? Because we're not Simmsy? Because most fans don't hate any team, Steelers are just the ones we love to beat? Because we'd rather be pro-Panthers than anti-Steelers? Personally I HATE that song!

Spot on twix. It makes me cringe, it reminds me of the bad days of footbal, when someone would try to punch your lights out because you happened to wear a different shirt to them. HL

It makes me cringe too. But I would have no problem with singing
"Heeey Steelers, I wanna knowwwww, what you won last year!"
Next season!

Yes, well said Twix.
Personally I hope we've heard the last of that song. It always made me cringe - very demeaning - good riddance to it.
If people feel the need to chant and sing at least pick something positive in support of our own team.

Couldn't possibly comment Steve As I will not be at the game due to my lovely holiday in Toronto and New York (which I 've not yet mentioned on EVERY thread yet! ;D) I don't mind what songs you sing. Like that will happen anyway

Make the most of tonights' game.... such a shame you're going to all those nice places..... whilst the lockout is on.... ;D (otherwise I'd be dead jealous! ) ;D Have a good trip - as if you wouldn't!

Agree with everything you said twix, but have to add... Because Sheffield have a horrible knack for scoring every time it's sung !!

I never understood why that song ever got sung. We have never used it against any other team, but they have against us. It's so childish, we just find other things/ways to sing about the Panthers and our own team. (did that make any sense)
Anyway looking forward to sunday, haven't been to the NIC in ages, even missed the play-offs this year. I don't do predictions cos I don't. I just hope for a hard fought match and hopefully the best team will win on the day, or even draw.
Looking forward to seeing Laker and Bliss skate through McKenna's legs since he's that tall.

Those days still exist, you just don't hear about it Those days still exist in ice hockey as well. Those that know me, will know what I mean. Anybody partating in a few beverages in the Castle before the game?? That's not like you is it Dave, going for a drink before a game Judging by Nottinghams performance versus Belfast, they could struggle on Sunday. Don't know if I'm going to be at the NIC but it should be a good game. Just hope the referee [whoever it may be] keeps control of the game. Kai x

Personally i've got no problem with that song. Its adds to the atmopshere, its not particularly agressive or offensive to anyone. And i don't think 99% of the people who actually sing it hate Steelers, i don't think its interprested that seriously. Anyway...I'm massivly looking forward to Sundays game, i always get exptremely exited like a 5 year old child the day before. Lets hope Panthers to show there true potetional. I think we'll manage to win by 1 goal, i think it will be close as always. Bring on Sunday...

And i don't think 99% of the people who actually sing it hate squeelers, i don't think its interprested that seriously. And let that be a lesson for Shaggy... it's possible to use the word HATE and not really mean it! . ;D Seriously though, it's funny though how you never hear "If you all hate the Panthers clap your hands" being sung at the HOS... and I am most thankful for that. It does remind me of that playoff semifinal a couple of years back... big bunch of Nottingham, Newcastle and Manchester fans singing "If you all hate the squeelers stand up" ... All the fans in the arena except ours stand up .... Chris Lipsett shoots and scores .... All the fans in the arena except ours sit down in a hurry ;D ;D ;D
