Matt Myers is now a key signing tbh.

Simms suggests on twitter that a local club is favourite to sign him - must be Panthers.

Could be the option that corey wants to replace himself on the PP when he retreats to the bench. With him being a Brit gives him much more options on who he can bring in as the 11 th import. Another more worrying scenario is the rumours of Meyers moving on to Braehead, although he is on a 2 yr contract, and weaver to replace him.

Could be potentially looking at a 7 strong D corps for this season:- Meyers, Lee, Neilson, Lepine, Wilson/upgrade, Weaver, Norton. A few if's and but's to sort out but with k-wall backing that up and Weaver taking some of the 'offensive load' off CN it's a strong looking line-up to me.

Well it seems Coventry rushed out a PR last night because Weaver is set to be announced by his new club today. No confirmation yet from anyone, but do the Panthers not normally issue their PR's later in the day? Think he might be heading to you guys.

I suspect Weaver could be heading to us to relieve Neilson of some ice time. That way with fewer minutes we might see fresher performances from both. Just a thought.

He isnt good enough for Coventry, he isnt good enough for us. It might be that he has deemed Coventry not good enough for him. Pushed or jumped? I'm thinking the latter, especially given how financially iffy the Blaze have become. He has probably had enough of playing for basketcase teams after his time at Newcastle.

He isnt good enough for Coventry, he isnt good enough for us. Depends on the situation if he's a 5th or 6th dman then he could be a great signing. Wouldn't take him as a top four defencman now though

seriously??
granted he had a poor season last year, but if rumours of him signing for panthers for last season were around people would have been over the moon! he's up there with Danny meyers in my opinion. can't knock quality Brit D men, there aren't many i'd take over Weaver, the only one probably being Mark Richardson.

I think that he would be a great signing for you. He is well past his best but he is still a very good player.

There arent many top quality brits available and although he didnt have his best year last year Weaver is still a top quality brit, shame it seems he is likely to join steelers rather than panthers...
