And to be fair you surely should have, having a full bench and playing at home, and also having a bye in the semi,s you were always going to take it That is immensely disrespectful to Hull... quite frankly, you should be ashamed of yourself. It's that kind of attitude that - were it to come from a fan of one of the 'big' teams - would instantly be branded "arrogant". I despise that kind of attitude. Hull earned their place because they outplayed with QF opponents. They did so and the Panthers took notice - and came out with every intention of going at them 100%. Which is why the score ended up as high as it did. At least our team showed them some respect. Yes, we slackened off in the third... but before that - Hull were the opponents and were there to be treated seriously - and that's exactly what they got. Also, you'd probably have been in a worse spot if we hadn't got your so-called 'bye' in the semis. Because Belfast would have had the first semi regardless, and if they'd had Hull, then you lot would have faced us in the second semi... and either been knocked out anyway, or ended up in the final with even less rest time than you actually ended up having. So exactly what you're whingeing about is beyond me. No, not "year in year out". IIRC, we've been in those blocks for 2 years. I happen to think that it should continue to rotate, your point there - as far as it goes - has some validity... but as usual, you decide to exaggerate. I personally have sat in blocks 7, 9, 13 & 17 during finals weekends (and those are just the ones I can remember right now) - all of which where the Panthers fans didn't have either of the middle sections.

a late message but congrats on winning the playoffs again, good game of hockey the final enjoyed it more than the two semi's, felt for the Devils though they put everything in.
sad to see the best ref in the league go out aswel.
i already cant wait for next year though, have a great summer.

Exactly the same way as you ended up playing Hull in the semi's. When Hull beat Sheffield they took the second seed place or else you would have played us.
When we beat Belfast on saturday we took first place seeding hence then becoming home team.[/quote]
It doesn't work like that. Say Andy Murray (4) beat Djokovic (1) in the semi final at Wimbledon, he would not become number one seed, he just replaces him in the next game.

DAB Goal Clarke goal Lepine hit Thanks for that Pies. That's quite a roar that goes up when DAB scores isn't it? ;D Yes it was, I heard it from the gents and at first I couldn't work out who had scored. But when I walked through the door to the bowl and saw all the fans on the other side sitting still, I knew it was we had scored. ;D

Though given sod's law, perhaps we wouldn't have scored if you hadn't gone for a leak at the right moment!

DAB Goal Clarke goal Lepine hit You wouldn't be able to put the game on disk and sell it would you? I'd be happy to pay for it! Guess it's not particularly "correct" though. I don't have sky so haven't got it taped or anything and it'd be nice to watch in the off season! Think i may be able to help you, will know later on today, if i can your welcome to a copy mate.

Just to reiterate comments regarding the suitability of the NIC as a play off venue. I know he is incredibly irritating but I again quote Simms on twitter.
"Nottingham and the NIC is a great venue, I have no problem it remaining there. There isn't an alternative is there?" "The neutral venue issue. In a perfect ideal world then YES the MEN or the 02 but they would cost more than £100,000 so not possible. Sheffield has Disney on Ice that weekend every year. Would 7000 people travel to Belfast? I think not."

If that would mean Sheffield would be available then I'd welcome it. Just to change the scenery every year! Is the Motorpoint Arena not bigger than the NIC?

Which would then clash with the IIHF World Championships. And since the vast majority of the GB team are EIHL players... that would kill the GB senior men's team off almost completely. Not going to happen... Bigger ain't always better. Just the legroom issue alone is enough to put me off that place, never mind anything else.

At the moment the NIC is the most suitable venue If Belfast could get everyone in and out of Belfast cheaply or at least for a reasonable price then it might be possible. But as soon people start booking flights the prices would sky rocket, we see this when only 200 fans want to go to Belfast what will it be like when there are 4000 from around the country all wanting to go?

DAB Goal Clarke goal Lepine hit The Lepine hit was clean, you see ones to the head go completely unpunished elsewhere. Maybe its because it was POW, or maybe because the Cardiff and Squealer fans were moaning, but thats not a 10 minute shot. Its as the Americans put it, A Green Light hit.

And it is nowhere near as "shabby" as some on here like to make out, but it can be rather dirty sometimes (floorwise). I believe the seats are on a re-covering programme.
