You saw lazy .... I saw conservation of energy by reading the game, a good thing to do when so short benched. A player doesn't have to race around the ice chasing the puck all game like an U10 in order to be giving '100%'. Exactley what i've been saying for Bloomin ages, in my eyes he not lazy, yes...he doesn't bomb round the ice like Myers but he's controlled and uses his engery well. As someone else pointed out, he's got a seriously tought job, being both enforcer and forward, a forward with so much pressure on his head due to his great performances last season. This season in cases he hasn't been electrifyingly good, but he has been good. He's put himself about, his poitioning and passing is great. The guildford incident was stupid, but i thin he realised that and has got over it. Lets hope JC can carry on improving, cause i think there is more to come...

I like Craiger a lot and firmly believe he's one of the best players in the league. He was good on Sat, but I didn't think it was one of his best games. He did his job well and didn't do owt stupid that cost us. Certainly good enough in my book. Steller performances are a plus. I was thinking as I watched that people would be slagging him again after as he only had a good game, rather than a steller one. That's the problem with great players. When you know they can be fantastic, you become disatisfied with them when they're only good.
Still, if many folks thought he was fantastic last night, fair enough. I was probably distracted by the dawning realisation that for the first time ever, I'm almost certainly gonna have a British player's name on the back of my shirt this year. Step forward David Clarke - You are brilliant. You also make me believe that you care about the Panthers as a team as much as me. A rare quality in a player.
Actually, Matt Myers never stops skating, does he ? After the 4th goal about 2 mins from the end I remarked to Ginger that everyone seemed to have stopped, resigned to the result of 4-1. Then Myers chases the puck down and checks someone: "Err, OK. Everyone except Matt Myers that is !".

what veryones got to remember is last year there was very few fights so craighead could play more and enforce less whilst this year every team in the league has at least one good fighter so hes having to police the ice a bit more this season.

Well here is another slant on the Craighead issue. I was talking to some very knowledgable Sheffield fans down at the Skydome tonight (fans who have years more hockey experience than me). They are puzzled why JC gets so much flak on here and said if we didn't want him would we send him up to them because they'd love to have him on their team. Lazy? Not realy they said, it's his skating style makes him look lazy. Oh, and he reads the game so doesn't have to rush about. He makes so much space on the ice for other people they said - so noticable whenever he comes out for a shift. And with fast, skillfull forwards thats just what we need. You know folks, those lads up in Sheffield know what they're talking about and they are spot on about JC. Like HL I wasn't happy about the Guilford incident, but that apart I reckon JC is doing a pretty good jobfor us right now. What he said! ;D And Chokka's Mum made a good point:- Exactly. Think about it for a minute. Here we have a forward who can (and does!) do ALL of the following - and do them well:- - score - assist - powerplay - penalty kill - backcheck - draw opposition players to him & create space for others - skate hard - enforce via reputation - fight How many players do we see who can do all of the above? Very bloody few, that's how many! Sure - he's done the numpty on the odd occasion (eg: Guildford netminder) and had poor games..... just like any other player? It's not good when that happens, and when it does - yes, he'll come in for some criticism. But I'd rather see him in a Panthers jersey than any other..... Perfection he ain't - so who is?

Kind of ironic really. After all, one of the reasons that other teams brought in some new enforcers this season is that (apart from Dion Darling) last year nobody wanted to go near Craighead. Making him a victim of his own success.
