Where has the London team we all looked at at the start of the season gone? You know the one that made everyone (me included) think they were going to have a good year and challenge up the top?
8-1 down in the 1st period in Basingstoke, I can't remember the last time a team in a competitive game had that kind of blowout!

Neither can I! I do remember Teeside leading Panthers 4-0 after the first only to end up losing 20-4

was this game an elite league game or just that rink challenge that doesn't count for anything?

The match isn't up on the Elite League website so I dunno if it is or not. I would have thought it odd to just have a challenge match during the season. BUt oh well, who knows??

According to a post on the Racers forum, the game was part of the Rink Challenge Cup, basically friendlies to make up for the loss of Manchester from the fixture list, and involving London, Basingstoke, Cardiff and Coventry. I guess they all sold 28 game STs???
London played their backup netminder and rested Maxwell and MacIntyre. The former probably explaining why there weren't so many PIMs ;D

The match was indeed part of the Rink Cup between Bison, Coventry, Cardiff and the (disg)Racers. Both teams had players missing and both played their back-ups. Period scores: 4-0; 4-0; 0-1 Final 8-1. Only one team was trying to play hockey, the other was trying not to get injured
