Seeing as it's this time next week, a hattrick of wins for us, or revenge for the Giants?

deal was done, giants get the league - we get the cup. i imagine a close first game (probably draw or giants by 1 goal) then the GM SPIN MACHINE can get into full swing to draw a big crowd mid week to see the panthers lift a cup and fill their pockets !! hold my hands up if im wrong but ive been around hockey in this country long enough to tell when something stinks !!

I think giants will want to win all trophies not do deals. IMHO I dont think we will win the cup. As giants proved when they came a few weeks back they was the better team. Panthers prove me wrong .....

Like we always say, and like we always get told, we are a cup team. I see no reason why the guys would give a half-hearted performance. After all, its about the only game that really matters between now and the playoffs!

Meh, I think Panthers will win both legs comfortably, (unless Shuff lose both games this weekend which would nearly hand the league to the Giants) I hope the Giants save themselves for the league

Looking forward to this now.
An extended stay in Belfast this time, with a bit more drinking time added on.

Very much looking forward to Wednesday. One of our party is already in Ireland sourcing a place for my 8am first pint when I arrive.
Apparently there is a game of hockey on too...

Hoping for a CC win for the Giants, but not so were wrecked for the double header against the Steelers
On second thoughts- That league for CC cup "deal" should include a run-out for your juniors on the last day of the season!

Giants will be absolutely buzzing for this game after a huge win on penalty shots against Steelers before absolutely mullering the Clan in the first period last night and then coasting the rest.
Dowd is on fire and has scored 14 in 11 plus 10 assists, Darryl Lloyd is fit to return after his knock against the Panthers so a big call for DC to make. Does he change a winning team and leave Lloyd out or drop a performing player because it would be hard to single anyone out at the minute.
Am travelling over for the 2nd leg so as long as we are still in the tie i won't mind the score, of course i'd like a 2 or 3 goal lead but these games have been tight all year so all to play for.

Got one of your Final progs in advance of the first game thanks to the wonderful staff team in Ireland. Thanks to them..... In it's pages it says.... ' the Giants juggernaut...pulls us to the fabulous Odessey arena with it's tyres fully pumped. The club have only dropped two results since the turn of the year, going an impressive 15-2-0 since the beginning of January, whilst the Panthers arrive with a slow puncture , it appears they drove over a nail sometime in the 1950's and haven't been able to find the right man to fix it ever since.'..... Maybe flat as regards the LEAGUE yes (don't join the Steelers in the 1950's yawn...) but this is CUP time. It continues........'the Cup can't be won tonight but it can be lost.....'... Seems like the Belfast wheels have come off already to me with that statement. You could roll us over in our arena whatever the score in the first leg the way your team is performing glenngiant. But I hope not lol

Anybody know what happens if the scores are tied at the end of the 2nd leg ?
I hope its not just a normal 5 mins overtime then pens to decide it.
I think they should go one full period of overtime before pens like they did in the playoff final last year.

Last year's Play off Final was won in regulation. The 2009-10 final was won on penalties, but OT was only 5 minutes.

Tough games
If we can scrape a draw or a one goal lead we might have a chance

Don't sit on the fence DR, tell us what you really think I reckon we'll lose on Wednesday, but not by a lot, and the "all to play for" PR will go into overdrive until next Tuesday, where we'll overturn the deficit to win by a goal on aggregate. Panthers are good enough to compete with the Giants when they play desperate enough, and the CC seems to make them play that way.
