I'm starting to get a bit worried about everyones confidence with regards to sat. You're not alone! A narrow Devils' victory, perhaps 3-2. We may be on a high after Amiens but I'd expect Dave Whistle to have the Devils well prepared for us. Just hope that after all the adrenalin in Amiens our guys turn up and play - could easily become a case of "after the Lord Mayors' show"

I'm starting to get a bit worried about everyones confidence with regards to sat. Yes we had a brilliant experience in Amiens and yes we worked as a team better than we have done all season but that doesn't automatically mean we will continure this form on sat. And also we are playing Cardiff who are currently top and are not there by fluke. And also with our 'success' in Europe it is bound to motivate the teams we play against as they are going to want to try their luck against a team that did so well in Europe. I think the game on sat could go wither way. We'll evither be too tired and sufering from 2 important injuries and Cardiff will pounce on us or we'll be extremely confident and out play them. Having said all that I'm predicting a draw! I agree with you on that - Cardiff will be ready for us, esp after the success in Europe. I have every faith in the team that they will do their best, but i think it may be a draw.

Reading this thread is getting me more excited for a hockey game than i have been in quite some time. Panthers may have injuries but so do we. Jason Becker and Jason Stone will hopefulyl be back for the weekend but i dont think they are 100% Neil Francis is definatly out with a Fractured hand but Super Phil Manny is coming in for cover

Personally I think that this is the perfect game for us. I'd be more concerned if it was a cross over game. A game against the league leaders and a cup game to boot should have the lads fired up just like they were last weekend. 4-2 win

the NIC has never been a good home to us unless we had someone called Ulmer playing for us. Ulmer was well worth watching last season if only for a few games....great play at the NIC.

i believe that this is a must win game
1) to make the players beileve they are good enough and 2) to make all the fans belive they are good enough and 3) to carry the momentum on from last weekend 4) to get a winning and unbeeaten run going (4 games unbeaten at the moment i think)

Certainly is as far as the Challenge Cup is concerned. I totally agree..lose and we may well not qualify in the end. Just want to point out that I find the management of Panthers attitude to the Challenge Cup puzzling. We make a hell of a fuss about winning it and then make little refenece as to how we're doing in the present CC defending it!? On the website if you click on results/tables you'll see the league table up to date and the CC is below it with games played for every club set at zero! If there's news about a particular league game this season which is also a CC match, the importance of the match in respect to the latter isn't mentioned. It's as if the CC doesn't exist. So why the hell did we make a big fuss about winning it and as somebody said, shouldn't there be a banner somewhere proclaiming it over the ice for home matches? Perhaps it's low key because we don't expect to make the next stage being in the harder group of four and don't want the fans to even realise we might be eliminated. I doubt that but on the other hand, I find it a strange competition doubling it up in this way and then ignoring the result as it affects the CC but not as it affects the league. Which quite honestly is why you can only judge the most successful team in ice hockey in this country by who wins the league....the CC competition is small fry as shown by the way the results are put on the website and in the programme.

Right....withdraw part of last post as Gary Moran in the news website has mentioned it's important in the CC standings for the first time.
Don't exactly show you on the website what's going on in those standings unless I'm blind but you can find the league standings on the site on the homepage and under tables? Am I right anyone or missing something?

Nnnnnoooooooo
Just sitting here looking at the forum and i've just looked out my window...
You see i'm so supersticious(sp?) (when it comes to Magpies) and as I look out of my window, I can see just one of the little beggars sitting in one of my apple trees - I hate them - go away!!
I hope that the bad luck it gives me isn't a lose for us tonight - if we do, blame the magpie, not me!!!

i think we should blame you as if you hadn't of said anything then nowone would of known anything of the magpie. So now you have just put doubts into every ones heads and now think they are bound to lose. ;D

great Crowd as well, hope that continues
great performance from panthers with key players missing.
why didn't myers get MOM he was amazing tonight never stoped skating and never gave up. where as Ivan practiclly nothing went right for him LOL
>:(Boniface was the worst ref I have ever seen. Thats how players get hurt, when you have a ref that lets cheap shots and interfernce go. when will refs realise that a good fair game doesn't mean calling the teams for the same amount of time in the penalty box and keeping the scores as close as possible.
if one team is cheating by hooking and playing people off the puck then you give them a penalty, not matter which team is losing. I mean how many people knew that in the final 5ish mins cardiff would get at least 1 PP oppertunity, just beacuse they were losing, If panthers were losing then that PP would of been reversed as they are always trying to get the the weaker team into the game.
Oh and if i was San Jose Sharkes GM i wouldn't be renewing Rob Daviesons contract at all, he looked no better than Ricci(if not Riici was better) he sure didn't look like a NHL player (even if an NHL player has an off game you still would expect them to be better than players in this league.

4-1 against the league leaders.Could have been a hatful more. Is Davison an NHLer?, looked ordinary to me.
The team played free flowing, disciplined hockey, only 6 Pims conceneded.
Im a happy Lair, going to my bed now, having seen a good performance by the team.
Bring on Tuesday!
