The poor ice thing is just a red herring, just a throwaway comment that HL thought was a good excuse for reminding us Steelers of your narrow CC victory. Glynn, Panthers were the better team over both legs of the CC final and we were dominant through out the entire competion. " narrow CC victory" Can't accept that your team was beaten by a better team? Shame on you, but hey who cares? We have the trophy to prove we were the better team

Now i have Wadede through the entire thread and I have found minimal mention of the original Topic! If people want to argue about suppoters from other clubs supporting other Clubs in Crucial situations then look at it this way, How many Panthers fans let out a little cheer when they herd Leavers got the first goal against Steelers? Panthers had no direct involvment, Just the same as Steer fans not "Cheering on Panthers" Be all and end all to think that all steeler fans would cheer us on is being stupid. I can only aplaurd the ones who did want us to do well. In reference to the topic of the thread, Steelers linked to a current NHL'er. Well great, but I'll believe it when I see it. As for all Steeler fans cheering on the Panthers, Warren I agree, to expect all to do so is very unrealistic. My point is that Glynn M claims to be reasonable while getting in his sly digs, always. The bloke in my opinion is insincere and always hides behind smileys because, "I'm only joking, didn't you see the smileys" seems to be a get out of jail free card on most forums. Well sorry, that doesn't wash.

At least he has the guts to be open when trying to have a dig or a bash at Panthers. Unlike Glynn who will stop at nothing to try have a snyde dig.

Right, so I am snide, backstabber, anti Panthers. Call the Forum Police you have got me banged to rights! Why not send in DCI Shinobi ;D Just because I don't come out all congratulatory about your time in France it makes me Panthers enemy #1 Insincere? just because I use a lot of smilies? Comon, thats just rubbish and everyone knows it is. If anyone bothers to remember I was one of the 1st people to wish the Panthers well in the Conti Cup, but don't let that fact change your negative perceptions of me! The Tvrdon issue is clear, HE was only a NHL-er because the Capitals HAD to bring him and other up last year, the point I was making was that (Like Davison in Cardiff) this guy we were chasing appears to be the real mccoy, somone who has spent more than 5 minutes in the NHL - but hey, I might be wrong and he probably won't join us anyway. As for the Challenge Cup, it's looking quite possible that you will have to relinquish the title as it looks uncertain that you'll make the semi's. I have to say Anton (Mr Moderator Sir) that although it's your opinion that you beat us by a long way, the Reality is that the Panthers won in Sudden death overtime and were within a nat's whisker of losing that final. Now yes, you still won, yes it was in our barn, and yes Diana Ross had demanded a nice warm arena to sing in the night before leaving the ice in a terrible state, but the ice was the same for both teams so was indeed just a red herring. Despite all that, A sudden death goal after being level at the end of game 2 IS a narrow victory.

LOL You & I both know that if...if your precious beloved Steelers had won in OT, your joy & gentle baiting on this board would have not been altered by the fact OT or not. Accept that your team lost in a dignified manner Glynn, and not argue the toss for the simple fact that you cannot gain the upper hand on this one. Maybe Panthers will not be successful in our retention of the trophy, but it still will not take away from our delight & the oh so sweet memory that was THAT goal by Kimmy Ahlroos *edited for typos*

Don't think I have done exactly what I was criticising Glynn M for, I'm just sick of his cheap posts. Everything is a dig, a jibe etc. As for wanting the Panthers to do well in Europe, I doubt it, I've read his " Awwww poor Panthers" post on Steeltalk. Thanks to all those Steeler fans who wished Panthers well, I know there's probably more of you than those of Glynn M's ilk. I didn't create a thread called " Awwww poor Panthers" You are misquoting/misunderstanding me aren't you? Admit it. My thread was called "Poor old Panthers - awwwwh!" And.... I've re-read it again and still can't for the life of me find anything that IS snide/a dig. There are a few "We told you so" about the injuries, but it might be worth you reading the whole post and digesting it before you label it snide/insincere etc. Ask for my "ilk", well I WAS one of those who you have thanked, I wished the Panthers well, so how can someone of my "ilk" be different?

Ooh, comedy Glynn LOL I try Anton, but it looks like one mans sincerity with occasional touches of comedy genius are easily mistaken by some as snideyness. ;D You & I both know that if...if your precious beloved Steelers had won in OT, your joy & gentle baiting on this board would have not been altered by the fact OT or not. Maybe not, But there's no denying that a 1 goal sudden death winner IS a close game. You have the upper hand on the CC for the moment, wheras us Steelers have to commiserate with the EIHL trophy, and also that Play Off Trophy that we took off your hands at the NIC and brought back with us up the M1 Again You win, I think **modified for slight spelling correction - but theres possibly more that i've missed **

Panthers had a very good season, we won more games than we lost & we won a trophy to boot, in a manner that was very sweet. Beating your rivals' in OT As for winning the league? You deserved it as your team were more consistent over the length of the season, and the play offs? Meh, you beat us by a single goal in a game that Panthers didn't do themselves justice in. But that's pro hockey, you win some you lose some. But I guess I can fall back on your " close game" logic that you've applied to our CC win over yourselves. *edited to take into account words that I've used that have caused offence to HL & Shaggy-AG*

Yup, your right, results don't always go your way, as Steelers found out in the CC final and the Panthers did in the Play Off Final and League. As for Shaggy & HL, I've spoken to them both at games, and both seem nice blokes, very passionate about their team similar to the passion for the Steelers that BDS, myself and several other have. They don't hate us, really Although they both like to shoot down Simmsy when and where they can I suppose the same could be said for Texpef (haven't seen him post much recently tho) and Mark. They are both passionate about their hockey club and like to jump on those who don't think that the Panthers are the best thing since sliced bread - not that sliced bread was much to talk about

You can't really express yourself on the internet that's all, and it's this that causes people to get arsey with one another. I too am passionate about the Panthers & especially the Leafs, but talk to me, and I'm lovely ;D

Problem is that I've got too many other shirts to wear, I have to wear 3 per game.
