Ive just noticed on the steelers website that at the 20 years festival they are going to retire tommy Plommers no11 the shirt that Jeff Legue has always worn.
So putting 2 and 2 together and probably coming up with 25, could this have been arranged because the know that there wont be anyone wearing that no next season?
Althugh thinking on he wouldnt be able to wear the no11 for us either as ours is retired.
just a thought

He can always change his number. Remember Jade changed his so not sure what to read into that if anything at the moment.

so did Corey 76 in his first season. I presume it was beacuse Calle Carlsson was assistant coach, and he he ever had to dress that was his number?

Randal weber breifly change to #44 tha back to #10.
Anyway, im aware people could change numbers just wondered if they had thought to retire it now because they dont have anyone in line to use that number.
as i said above probably no reason to it other than they want to retire it anyway.

Brad Cruikshank wore 26 when he first joined the Steelers and then changed to 89 the following season when they retired 26 for Shudra.

I'd imagine Legue would be understanding of them retiring 11 whether he was coming back or not - for all some of them are really picky/OCD about wearing a certain number or something that magically "links" to that number, most are happy to change to honour a retired shirt as much as they are when someone is already occupying that number.
Bari McKenzie came to the caps last summer having always worn the #9 shirt - that was already in use so he picked 72 because 7+2=9. There's plenty of ways around it, by that theory Legue could play in 29, 38, 47, 56, 65, 74, 83 or 92 (unless any of those are retired), or he may have a 2nd choice number completely unrelated to 11.
