I've seen all the home games and three away games so far and to be quite honest I have yet to come out of any game thinking we now look like a good team, if the players we have are supposed to be the best in the league I'm dissapointed, maybe something else is wrong, hope Father Christmas is early this year.

On the contrary ...
I left the NIC a happy man on Saturday night .... I thought we looked good and were firing on all cylinders. Finally we were looking like a team that would contend for that top spot.
Unfortunately that made last night's result in Bracknell all the more disappointing.

We're gonna have our ups and downs and it certainy isn't going to be plain sailing all the way......but we are getting there in comparison to the beginning.

how are we getting there? where from the results this weekend can you judge that ANY improvements have been made? We beat what looked like an average team from the BNL then the next night we lost to what i have heard looked like an average BNL team. How is that an improvement? In fact from the results so far this season we have looked far from convincing, i mean last weekend we could only squeak a point from a very poor sheffield side who at the moment are generously oozing points away... From weekends like last and the one just gone we NEED all 4 points to have any serious aspirations of our first league title not give away points to sides who showed how to play as a team and actually look like they have had some training in passing and shooting. Unfettered optimism is all well and good but please inject a touch of realism into some of your posts please... bet you would smile tasteless analogy removed - Admin eh!!!

Erm excuse me, we have been up and down from the word GO and what i was saying, or trying to say was that we have improved from the beginning of the season in the sense that we are gelling that bit more and have better games than others (And we're not far into the season either). If you also read my post again, i also said we have ups and downs and that it won't be plain sailing all the way. Nuff said, thats my comment / opinion and how i see it so far so let me make it.

BJ, we had two periods of play against a poor Guildford team, and really it was only our Brits that livened it up,why cant I be more optomistic? just want to see some solid teamwork.

saturday was a solid all round performance, it doesnt matter if the brits scored th majority of the goals, it was the best home performance so far, and its an indication that we are ON THE WAY to being fully gelled as a team!

Wembley Lion, why is it you use the term 'brits' as derogatory sounding. Brits or no they are part of the Panthers team and whether they are 'brits' or not should be able to give us a good show. I think they could be very offended by being called 'only our brits' They are not a separate entity they are all the Nottingham Panthers

Its about time the negativity simmered on this forum , its getting bloomin ridiculous, and i mean you Heja in particular I know we haven t started as strongly as perhaps we should but i do beleive we ve started to play a lot stronger and have improved a lot since the season opener. And our d isn t as bad as people make out Ricci is possibly one of our stongest we ve had in recent years. so lets cut the slanging now, have a look on other forums they don t seem to have arguments on a daily basis like this one does. So if poeple haven t got anything constructive to say , DON T SAY IT!!!!

Chokas mum, it was'nt meant to be derogatary, but considering that we alledgedly have ex NHL players and players from top European and US Iwould have thought THEY would offer more endeavour and spirit than our GREAT BRITS, perhaps wages wise it should be reversed.

Pidge 88, Perhaps Panthers supporters are more critical because they like me are fed up being told, we always have the best players but continually under achieve year after year, yes we did win the cup last year but the league and winning the play off final is the ultimate.

Yes point taken, but now we have this side , and what we may be told we have to get behind the lads on match nights. I for one want the league championship more than anything else and its not beyond reach by any means. We have just as good a chance as any . , some players might be performing a little below par but id rather get these games out of the way now than when u really need the points come february !!!

Here's a novel idea ... How about some belief in the team, some positive comment, something to build the confidence .... Surely that would be better than picking up on every single little mistake, slating everything we dont agree with, harping on and on about whats wrong with the team instead of focussing on what's right ....

There not going to come out and say "were not going to win anything this year" come on be realistic no one knows what the season his going to bring.

Anton you post on here so read the threads and you will see that know it's not only me, or perhaps you only read what you want. Oh right, a handful of people say that the league title and/or the play off title are what we, the supporters demand... Please I'm not bothered what trophy Panthers win. Challenge Cup, Play Offs or League Title. Couldn't give a French Connection. The obsession with winning the league comes from this country's relationship with football, ie the league is paramount. And don't retort with "the league is superior in prestige to the CC." Rollocks is it.
