Lupul doesn't "suck" at all; he's a talented guy that's battling back from a long term injury. We had him for two years, he sucks. A poor man's Briere.

Meh, couldn't give a monkeys; 96 points in 135 games would be fine with me if he can get back to that level, if not, we can afford his contract and the length of it is acceptable.

He was too much of a lower-ranking bully for me. Loads of points against the Thrashers of this world, but few against genuine contenders. Saying that, he scored my favourite ever goal in OT of Game 7 against the Caps.

Not interested in what he did with the Flyers; like I said, he played well for us and I think he can contribute.

Not one single deal today for the Leafs, save re-signing Scrivens. Hopefully Burke signs no one, keeps our 1st rounder this year (?!) and we tank and draft high...

Sharks lose Ben Eager, to the Oilers I'm happy to the back of him. Bit of a loose cannon at times and very one dimensional. Loose Mayers as well but this evening sharks added Jim Vandermeer to a one year deal and Michal Handzus to a two year deal worth $5m

How busy are the Flyers at the moment.
Jagr (as already said), Andreas Lilja and Max Talbot. An extension for Voracek and let Versteeg go to Florida.

Decent pick ups by LA & Toronto regarding Gagne & Connolly, short term and low risk deals, especially for the Leafs who have the cap space. No point signing players to inflated 9 year deals.

Disappointed to not get Gagne to be honest, i love the guy.
Connolly will spend half the year concussed or injured and $4.5m is a ridiculous amount of cash. You're definitely not alone in splurging money though, there have been some downright bemusing contracts offered out.

It's not a signing that has me elated, but Richards was never signing with us and Connolly at least provides enough at forward to allow Kadri & Colborne time to develop. I don't see why a lot of non-Toronto fans are laughing; two years is nothing in pro-sports.
Toronto have spent $5.1m so far in free agency and have a tonne of cap space in order to re-sign Schenn & MacArthur. They won't make the post season this year, but the bigger picture is stocking up on youth and building for the future, not band aids like under previous GMs.

Toronto acquired Franson and Lombardi from NSH for Lebda & Slaney lmfao. Absolute steal for the Leafs!

Is Lombardi healthy again? Dunno, depends on which team you're listening too, but even if he goes on LTIR, we still got Franson for Lebda. Lombardi was a player I liked in CGY and PHX so hopefully he gets a clean bill of health.

Yeah he was decent for us, would've liked to have kept him. Must've been a bad concussion though to take him out for pretty much the entire season. Hope he gets back.
Gonna be a long season in the desert, think we'll be in that draft lottery come the end of it with a decent weighting for #1. Ridiculous situation, feel sorry for Maloney and Tippett.

OK... I did NOT see this one coming! www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=370854Not sure what to make of this, to be honest. San Jose are obviously dumping some salary. Minnesota trade away an underperforming forward and in return get... an underperforming forward! On basic numbers, this trade is worth it for the Wild - looks like we'll get an extra 10 goals or so per season, if both stay at the level they've been. Maybe Heatley will blossom in Minnesota - who knows? Definitely a 'suck it and see' trade.

Delighted with the trade last year Heatley was woeful, uninterested, lack of effort glad his gone with the Sharks freeing up another $2.5m from the trade, I'd expect Doug Wilson to have some more moves planned.

Maybe it's a good thing for both teams... maybe it's a gamble for both teams. After all - Havlat didn't exactly set the place on fire either. Best case, the change of scene does both players good. On the Minnesota side... well, this gives Heatley the chance to be undisputed #1 scoring forward on the team... maybe that'll be motivation for him? We shall see.
