just read a tweet from BIH that Chambers is rumoured to have been released from the Blaze and also a strong rumour that Ashley Tait is to move from Steelers to Blaze...
no idea what truth there is in this.

Now that Tait has played for steelers recently, after sitting out 5 days with a 'dead leg' I cannot see him moving to blaze now. If he was going to go there, then he would have gone then.

Well Cov at the minute then are getting the better hand of the deal, in my opinion. I could actually see this happening very soon because Tait wouldn't sit out with a "dead leg" for games, would he?

Although the source is BiH, so very dubious to say the least, it could be interesting.
What if Steelers feel they can lose Tait but don't want him going to a potential rival. Can't they refuse to allow him to transfer within the league? I'm sure something similar has happened before.

If they release him they cant stop him going anywhere. If he asks to be released they can do I believe. A trade would seem more than likely but I highly doubt any of this will happen

In simoes case the panthers enforced the terms of his contract that he honour the fortnight leaving period but steelers wanted him to play during that fortnight therefore the panthers were within their rights to stop him playing i believe...
Cruikshank must either have sat out the fortnight or had permission to play off the steelers at the time of his release.. Am pretty sure if he had signed over to us then he would have sat out his fortnight too...

How i understand it Simoes was Being paid to sit out his two weeks notice therefor until the two weeks were up he was still a panthers player and therefore couldnt sign and play for any other team untill the two weeks were up. In Cruikshanks case i would have thought that he would have either been paid the two weekd notice period upfront and therefor his contracts nullified of he came to an agreement with the steelers so that he could sign for the Blaze strait away so he didnt miss the chance to sign for them and also saving the steelers two weeks money

Rather silly yes, but I quite like the line Maybe you're taking things a little too seriously HL. Plus, sorry to say it, but Scorch > Paws

Are they actually planning on letting Scortch run the bench during a league game?
The Blaze 'Professional' atheletes being told what to do by a man in a dragon suit?
They can't be serious?
If they do they should be punished for bringing the game into disrepute, that's if the league are serious about the sport in this country, which is something i doubt.
If this happens I would have to re concider how seriously I can take this league and sport in future tbh.
Like always 1 step forward, 2 steps back when it comes to promoting the league. jokers! very sad.

Does no one else think scortch running the bench would be tragic for british ice hockey?
Imagine if fergie got suspended and let the red devil run the bench. simply wouldn't be allowed to happen. 1 you have to have qualifications to manage a football team. 2 the premiership is professionally run, 3 the fans wouldn't stand for such a p take after paying hard earned money to watch a game.
Come on Elite league, grow a pair already, you jokers!
If Paws ran the bench in Nottingham, I would demand a refund on my season ticket = total p take. IMO

To be fair pantherdman, we still have our assistant coach Luc Chabot on the bench, every year he takes charge of the bench for two or three games whilst Thommo is usually away doing something important. Having Scorch on the bench is just a bit of fun.

Bringing the game into disrepute? The league and its incompetent officials have done far more damage to the image of hockey in the UK than any individual team has.
Good on Coventry I say. I hope they do actually stick Scorch on the bench and put two fingers up to the joke league management.
Of course that said a bit of me knows that if the Panthers had announced they were putting paws on the bench (joke or not) THF etc would be in meltdown at the moment.
