I would suggest doing the adult scrim - tuesday and friday evenings, see the arena website for more details.
They run three lines at adult scrim: beginner, intermediate and advanced. If you can skate to a decent standard (grade 5 skate UK if that gives you an idea of the standard) and you have all the kit, then you're pretty much set to have a go on the beginner line.
Also if you're 18 then it might be worth asking about at the uni team (Nottingham Mavericks) because they have a D team which is aimed at people who begin when they join the uni, and I've heard of people who don't go to the uni that have played for them.
Hope this helps.

they roll lines of hockey like they do in real hockey..0_o
a beginner line that is is obviously for beginners. an intermediate line that is obviously for intermediate an advanced line that is obviously for advanced players..
sorry to sound so condescending but i dont know how else to word it.

Not at all mate, I realize it may seem a daft question, I was just wanting to make sure I understood.

They rotate the lines every two minutes. So you will get a regular shift.

On a friday as long as you can stand up, that should be fine. If you are in any doubt, I would just go to the NIC one friday and watch one of the scrims.

The best developmental team in the country operates out of Ice Sheffield every Sunday night if you can get up here. We have a large Notts contingent and cater for absolute beginners in an informal and fun training environment. ;-)

Hi
Could you tell me more about it, at Sheffield
Cost/time/ coaching or scrimmage/age restrictions/equipment needed.
As I emailed them a few days ago and no one has got back to me yet.
Cheers
