Ok i do not know what trap hockey is, so im a little lost. Its full name is the Neutral Zone Trap and basically it consists of keeping your wingers in the neutral zone and using your center as a forechecker in the offensive zone.

A lot was made of the stats that Kowalski brought across which I believe were very impressive with the exception of one season
Maybe I was wrong but I think he was saving 93% of shots he faced before he joined us ?
So far he hasnt come close to that I would suggest so there must be better to come from him

I would say that 90% is fairly close to 93%.

His career save percentage is 90.4 and so far (After a whole 4 games!) with us he is on 89.9.

for fudges sake - 4 out of 4, what more do you want? 4 shut outs? 4 assists for K Wall? Goals from him?
Its 2 weeks into the season, lets see what its like come Christmas. Some people last season were calling for Mann to be chopped and how good was he!

If we want to start talking stats I reckon a nettie that ends the season on 90% or thereabout with us will have had a cracking year. The save % is a reflection on the defence in front of the NM as well as his own keeping skills. We are an offensive side and if an 89.9% save % results in the continued points haul we've seen so far then it's job done.

Come on, lets take some things into consideration, first game of the season in front of a packed house and he was prob suffering a little bit of nerves. That combined with the entire teams awful start, I think his overall performance was pretty decent.
Also take out the fact the half the goals we've conceded since then were some shocking defensive errors that Martin Brodeur wouldn't have had a chance with!!
Given that, I think his save percentage is pretty good, given that we are an offensive team. Can't believe he's being questioned after 4 games!!

If we are going to criticize K-Wall for letting in goals, why not have a go at Meyers who manages at least 1 turnover in the zone a game or DAB for not scoring 4 hat-tricks so far. K-Wall has played 4 games at 3 different rinks, it takes a little time to get used to it. At the moment it's score one more than you, but I would expect that he will get better and keep more out, who knows when the opposition break forward there might even be a couple of D-men already back to defend.

I can't say he's stood out as hugely impressive but I'm happy with him so far, way too early to start judging him really.
No issues as far as I'm concerned, 4 wins in 4 starts, I'm not calling for anyone's head from that!

As usual, it seems, any problem lies with the defensive unit as a whole IMHO. And it will get better, I'm sure... it takes time for them to get used to each other.
Having only seen Kowalski play twice, I don't really think I've seen enough of him to make a proper judgement. He does wander a bit, which always gives me the shakes, but I do like his rebound control... that could really serve us welll further into the season.
Work in progress...
