Was just looking at Panthers roster for last year and noticed that Ross Dalgleish has not signed anywhere for next season as yet. I wonder if the Stars would be interested as he is a decent player who can throw his weight around a bit and seems fairly happy to drop em. Would add a little bit more toughness to an already tough team.

Ross is good player. Would be very surprised if an EIHL club didn't snap him up.

Nick Toney's would never play for Panthers again, something went off last season and he was benched, the only reason he stayed is because Neil Black blocked it because of the Uni deal. He was so upset he was even contemplating never skating again. Good luck to the guy if he has picked another club up.

Just been looking at Dwayne Zinger's fight card. He looks a fairly regular brawler and pretty good too. With over 500 AHL I think I would do a little dance if he was signed to replace Wilson.

Is Zinger a relation of Darren Zinger, ex-Streatham in the 1980s?

Is Zinger a relation of Darren Zinger, ex-Streatham in the 1980s? More than likely Stef - both born in Coronation, Alberta (pop:1,000). I would hazard a guess that Dwayne is either a younger brother of Darrin, or a nephew, as their respective ages make it unlikely that he's Darren's son, although not impossible! According to Coronation's Town website, there's still a lot of Zinger's there, including Zinger Brothers Auction House; the Zinger School of Dancing; the Zinger School of Music and the Zinger Music Barn! ;D Certainly would like him here next season though!

Well it wont be TJ Reynolds, as he's just signed in the ECHL.
Doug Nolan anyone?

Wonder if we will end up with Matt Suderman from Hull.
Lee Mitchell put up some decent numbers last year. What about him as 4th line Centre?

I really rate Lee Mitchell, think he'd be an excellent addition to many rosters. Do we have room for him and would he be happy playing a bit part role? I suspect the answer to both is no. Suderman doesn't really look like an upgrade on Brock Wilson to me, although appreciate i've got little to go on.

I agree that Suderman does not really look an upgrade on Wilson but does look a bit bigger and tougher.
Not saying that we will for a minute but if we did bring in Mitchell you could play 4 pretty strong lines.

Come on Pidge. You know its not all about plus minus.
The guy has nearly 300 hundred AHL games and would do a decent job for any team in this League. Not that I particularly want us to sign him to replace Wilson.

Maybe not but in d men i think that stat tells a pretty good story about them, we will be heavilly reliant on this d man to hold the fort for us this year

I agree that the last D man will have a big part to play in the outcome of our season but I don't think you can suggest a bloke with 300 AHL games under his belt would not be a good player in this league because of plus minus stats.
If he was no good he would not have kept getting picked.

DAB Sproat Galbraith Clarke Ryan Henderson Lacowicz Myers McDonald Levers Mitchell Penner It's another bit of weight to the argument that says if we're as stable as we all know we are we should be using that to our advantage. They do long 4 very solid lines and you'd see some big 3rd periods from Panthers if they were able to roll them game in game out. Add an additional import to cover for injuries, step up when a guy's not at 100% or to allow us to change our approach to a particular game and you have one hell of a strong looking side.

Definitely, If its within the rules and we can afford it then why not?
Can you carry more than one spare import?
IE a spare defender and a spare forward?

Don't see why not, did we not effectively carry Molin and Toneys at one point last term. As I understand it the only restriction is the number of ITC players you can ice on a given gamenight.

We should do it then IMO.
If we were to start a game without a full quota of imports due to an injury it would seem a bit daft to me.
I know its not the same but its along the lines of a Professional Football team starting a game with 10 men. The fans of said club would go mad.
