Classic quote by the Fat Controller in this weeks Powerplay magazine. The question has been put to Simms regarding who in his eyes would be the perfect owner for the club. Simms reply: "David Simms. No seriously, someone with vision" So is this another myth shattered. We are led to believe up the road how perfect the Fat Controller is, but by his own admission he has no vision!!! He goes on: "Someone who would retain the financial stability and off ice respect we now have ( ), but add and bring the vision that we once had on marketing, promotion and bring more people back to the Arena". They don't need a new owner, they need a miracle ;D

A couple of more classic quotes from the Fat Controller to make you smile: ' I expect the good BNL teams will beat the mid-range Elite boys....' Sheffield 2 -3 Dundee!! The Fast Controller has alawys led us to believe that Sheffield are the greatest thing ever to grace British Ice Hockey...erm, prehaps not ;D In relation to their last import signings: "On D, the last guy will be big, strong, and defensive. We like our our big defensemen in Sheffield. Up front we need some scoring punch from a winger and a good solid line centre" Erm, 3 more signings (Parrish included) would take the Steelers roster upto 12 imports!! As the Fat Controller always likes the Elite League rules clarifing when he suits him, prehaps he wont the rule that says a maximum of 11 imports only clarifying!! ;D ;D More classics in the future no doubt Regards HL

That interview was written BEFORE the signing of Daryl Andrews... who is, if I'm not mistaken, a big defenseman. As for the forwards, we can only hope... With our current roster, we are very much an "average" Elite side... so it's not a great surprise that Dundee won. I see your super-squad had a bit of a hard time handling last year's BNL minnows, Hull - and it's the only game you've won so far, so I wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops just yet.

Not sure if on topic, but from where I'm sitting behind the Racers bench last night; Panthers get a power play with 2 mins to go, Dennis Maxwell to his bench "...just kill this penalty and the game is ours...watch those sticks..." Doh!

Further words of wisdom from the Sheffield Steelers Press officer.
The following quote was in relation to the Racers v Steelers fixture change from a Sunday to a Friday:
" We only got advised of a fixture change there ten days before the game in an e-mail from the league. its no problem to us but you would have thought that Roger would have the decency to contact us in advance, some things haven't changed"
What right has Simms to judge anyones decency having tried to poach the coaches of at least 3 other British hockey teams during the summer??
Prehaps Roger should have had the decency not to let his team thrash the Steelers 4-0 tonight ;D ;D
Back under your rock Simms.

Taken from the Steelers forum: There wasnt a bench clearence, a big melly by the benches loads og guys getting involved This post seems very similar to those of Smitherssteel. I would not be surprised if Smitherssteel was DS. I think you will find its called a Melee, David....
