Ok just wanted to see what peoples predictions for this must win match are. Im going for a strong home display with shmyr showing who is boss, then our guys scoring from all over the ice. I'm predicting a 5-1 win. cause im a happy clapper

Am I right in thinking that McAslan will be eligable to play again on Saturday (provided he's fit of course) or is it after this weekend?

He was de-registered for 6 games, so isn't it Sunday for McAslan?

I think it's going to be a close one but erring on the side of optimism I'm going to say 3-2 to Panthers.

4-2 to Panthers Shmyr v Payette Shmyr v Ferone I agree with all 3 of those predictions, old Shymr will certainly have his hands full so maybe even Simoes will step up to the plate. Good luck guys!! Jazza

I think the Panthers will take this one, maybe one or two goals in it. Possibly 4-2 or 4-3 Panthers. Ferone to gey Shymr though ;D

Meh.... hopefully a home crowd and some noise could spur us a win... nothing more than a goal or 2 though
Shmyr will not be fighting unless anyone starts to take liberties.. and as much as I want them to go.... judging by how quiet Payette and Cornish were last week.... thats not likely.
Turned down Ferone more than once, didnt see anything between him and Cornish.... and he openly gave Payette a "you're not worth my time" laugh in the face.
Shmyr isnt a cheapshotter to force anyones hand and hes intelligent enough not to fight for no reason.

All this stuff about Ferone being this big tough guy are just based on legend - he's become like Keyse Sozer or something! The longer he doesn't fight, the tougher people seem to think he is!
I've only seen him fight live a couple of times, and he certainly wasn't a heavyweight beater - and definitely not in the Shmyr/Clouthier/Gomez/Cornish etc league of fighter.
Let's be honest though - none of these players are SCARED of each other. If Payette was quiet last weekend, it will only be because he wasn't up for the game, or wasn't feeling too well. If Shmyr turned Ferone down, or vice versa - because I've read both being reported - it will be because they didn't think it was worth it, as against them being scared or not wanting to.
Their mentality is that they're NEVER scared of anybody. They may respect other players, but that wouldn't keep them quiet or keep them "well away".
Anyway, onto the actual GAME (i.e. the score!) I think it will be close - depends how much difference Weaver makes - I think one goal either way though.

well after that last sorry home performance 2 weeks ago - my thoughts were to never watch them again.
But the last 2 weeks and gritty display last week have negated my anger and i'm feeling optimistic again.
But lets be honest - the vipers are this years whipping boys. so if we dont win or put on a decent show - if may well sum up another panthers team as non-contenders.
its not being negative - its about being realistic
good luck guys and do your fans proud.

As soon As Paul stepped anywere near it it stopped. He beat Jason Shmyr, a very similar plyer to his brother, slaughted scott allison(ok, not the best fighter, but check the size difference) and beat JP Soucy (ex-bracknall d-man who gave J. robinson a pasting on his Viper debut) Plus anyone who has seen his second fight v Payette in the crossover cup will testify how tough the guy is. And those are just the highlights of his Viper fight card. His previous is even more impressive(heard a rumour that when he was at belfast he held his own in a fight with Bedard(newcastle) when Paul had a dislocated shoulder. Undeniabley the toughest guy in the viper line up.

No offence but cornish got pasted by gomez, gomez stayed away from our big lad
Then you have Coutier who kept newcastle players quiet in their matches and then he god a good showing too from shmyr.
All this talk of he's bigger and better means nothing, Past fights are in the past.....it all comes down to the night. If they fight they fight and we see who comes out on top there and then. So going on past fights really shows nothing as with alot of league enforcers one week it will go to one guy the next it will go to another.
And the more i think about the score line the more i think we might just have that flair back and going to give vipers a real hammering in all aspects

hiya guys, just heard off cousin, we lost 5-3 ellis had load of ice time, sk8d his socks off and noone else seemed bothered, payette tried to go with half our guys, and they all sk8d away, even shmyr. Apparantely they got booed off the ice, which i havent seen all season. If we dont beat phoenix we are in bigbigbig trouble cant believe its the same team that were winniing the league before rouen. Other scores: basingstoke 4-0 hull Edinburgh2-5 belfasy
