As Doughnut says a drop in season ticket sales might well make him think again. However it must be difficult to do what is best for everyone concerned and Neil Black is entitled to make a profit out of the business and obviously doesn't want to cause cash flow problems by paying the NIC too much up front. Neil Black has stated on several occasions that he would like to do away with season tickets altogether, figuring he can make more money from everyone paying full price on the door for every game. As far as I am concerned, Neil Black probably wants season ticket holders to be annoyed, in the hope that some of those loyal ST holders might switch to pay as you go in future years. These fixture changes, while maybe beyond his control, will certainly help him achieve his aim....

They can't cope with the queues before the game now so what would it be like with all the current season ticket holders queueing as well. The NIC don't seem to have grasped the idea that enlarging the ticket office will only have an effect if you also increase the number of people serving.

Very annoying this sudden concentration of fixture changes. Neil Black was certainly looking to get more weekend fixtures this season - to that end he'd rather have fewer games in the season. However, that doesn't solve the problem of provisional dates being reallocated. I've heard different takes on this regarding the amount of money required for a bond and whether that bond actually guarantees anything - I really don't know the ins and outs of it. However, it seems unlikely that Neil Black could justify paying a large bond that would prevent a hockey fixture being replaced by a concert - the differential in revenue is just way too big. I think the cost of any such bond would way exceed any potential losses from switching a game from a Saturday night slot. When Panthers first started up Friday night was hockey night if I remember correctly from when my mum and dad went to games back then. Panthers still consider Friday evening to be part of the weekend I think. In many ways I prefer a Friday evening game to a Sunday afternoon and these rearranged games will free up a few Saturdays for me, so personally, I'm not worried about the alterations. I can sympathise with people who are inconvenienced by the changes and it isn't a very satisfactory system. However, it is a commercial world and I don't really see how things can be done much different - ice sports in this country just don't generate much revenue.

These fixture changes, while maybe beyond his control, will certainly help him achieve his aim.... What is annoying about it is I like my season ticket, I paid £240 up front for 24 games = £10 per game. To buy a one-off ticket £14 + booking fee £1.50 + postage (from 60p to£1.00) = a 60% increase ( I suppose I could make the 40 mile round trip to the NIC to save on postage!!) There is always the option of missing half a period of play to queue for my next match tickets or get their at 4:30pm before they put the match night sales only signs up. I did every option before I had my ST so you can see why I bought it. The 60% increase would mean that I would only go to half the games and I would imagine that for most ST holders it would be a similar situation. It would have a great effect on the Panthers and Mr. Black if half the ST's weren't renewed very little effect on the NIC, who are the ones changing the ice availability times.

I wasn't happy about the CC game, I have two ST one adult, 1 child. The cost per ticket over the season is £10.83 and £5.42 repectively. the CC game cost £14 & £12 and increase on the adult price of 30% and a whopping 120% increase on the child. Was this because it was (i) a cup game, or (ii) sheffield? On the first Hull game we paid around the same a the average ST game price on the next one we get a £2 discount on the full price. Is this because it is the anniversary game?
As ST holders we have forked out our hard earned money months before the season started, not knowing who the team was, or who the coach was. Other teams treat their ST holders better than we are treated, and going on the past run of results the team could do with all the support it can get.

I consider the fact that Ice-Hockey being such a success. The new Arena was brought about from that.THEN with it up and running with the hockey faithful it could incorporate the music events etc...now we have the poor mans slot. I also buy a ST to accomodate the arena (not joining a lengthy line of folks they cant cope with) and I like to be able to take the same seat with my new friends around me. If Mr.Black prefers it otherwise then he can choose that route at his gamble.
To those who might say I should not bleat so much about the changes, that I knew what may lay in store.No. I paid in advance before fixtures, true, but now we have them it IS a concern to have to arrange days off work to then be told (or more likely find out) that we have to move aside once more. Travel, accomodation, work arrangements all are concerns for each change. If we who find this difficult, did not say anything, people would say 'why did you not tell us'.....if your still with me.lol.
