I dont think this is a fair poll.....They both had different defences infront of them. IMO curtis's defence was alot better

once again another pointless poll. Agreed. Not only is netminding not the problem IMHO (it's what's in front of the netminder!) - bringing in any new netminder will surely require another 'settling-in' period... which is not what we need. I rate Curtis Cruickshank quite highly (certainly more than Rob Wilson obviously does!) - but bringing him back mid-season would be a mistake, I think. Lindsay has been doing his job, I think - half the time he's been let down by the defence in front of him.

Typically blame the last man standing regardless of how many static dummies they've gone past to get there!

No one is blaming the last man for anything on this thread, it seems that sunbeam just wants to compare netties, and that is not pointless either. Its not a question of defence, its a question of netmiders and I think CC has a good rep for GAA etc for the last few seasons but people still debate whether he was a good goalie or not eg choking at big games etc. I think Lindsay is settleing in and hes holding alot more of the shots. In the early games he spilled everything. To answer your question sunbeam I went for Lindsay over CC. I just wish hed improve on 1 on 1s. If CC was that great would Newcastle have shipped him out? no

Can we have an option for "Neither" please?
The calls to bring back Cruickshank sum up a lot of what is wrong with the Panthers. While I thought he did very well for us during his time in Nottingham (the stats don't normally lie when it comes to netminders), if the coach decides that the netminding is the problem I would like to see him look elsewhere. Bringing back the same old familiar faces who have been part of previous seasons of mediocrity is why we have a "comfort zone" mentality at our club and why we don't win things.
Hopefully, when it comes to making any changes, we will see Ellis move away from this policy and demonstrate that his "winning mentality" has not already been diluted by working for the Panthers organisation.

This all supposes the Cruickshank would want to come. It's not the netminding that's at fault anyway. It's the general malaise that runs through the whole organisation.

I'm happy with Lindsay at the moment a bit patchy now & then but he must be 1 stressed nettie!

The problem is goalscoring , when will people realise that

The problem is goalscoring , when will people realise that They won't Pidge, they just like to target one person out over everyone else, and seeing as there's only one starting netminder, Lindsay's a sitting duck. Folks tend to gloss over the appalling goalscoring record that we've slumped into of late. Is this Evan's fault too? By the way, i've never known a club where so many fans given half an opportunity want to see old blood brought back to the club. What is our perceived fascination with the past? For heaven's (or Evan's?) sake, can we break with recent history, it's not like it's been successful now has it?

The problem is goalscoring , when will people realise that Well said Pidge. Lindsay hasn't done badly at all this season in my opinion and has impressed so far. I think he has a much greater awareness of what's going on in front of him (and he's been badly let down at times) and has a much better eye for where the puck is going than Cruickshank ever did.

And i ve never known a club where the fans keep coming back year after year after another self destruction (this years is earlier than normal) I said to myself in the summer, i wouldn t go into the season with any expectation but after the start we ve had to how its deterioted, its just wound me up

Well, for those hoping to have Curtis Cruickshank back, here's something that might indicate you could be disappointed... Seen on THF - a report from Eurohockey.net:- Now... the Bison have a betminding slot going spare, and what starting netminder is immediately available? I hereby start the "Curtis Cruickshank to return to the Bison" rumour.....

once again another pointless poll. Lindsay has been doing his job, I think - half the time he's been let down by the defence in front of him. Which means the other half, it is down to Lindsay, his poor positioning on Friday and Saturday cost us 3 goals, we would have won 4-2.

I dont think this is a fair poll.....They both had different defences infront of them. IMO curtis's defence was alot better His defence was better, but his save percentage was miles better too. He's had a month or two of poor form behind no defence in Newcastle and suddenly he's an appalling goalie. In Nottingham, he had two incredibly good years. For some reason, some seem to ignore the fact that he was in the top two goalies for both seasons and dismiss his efforts entirely. CC was the best goalie we've had since Trev if you ask me. once again another pointless poll. How's it pointless? I find this interesting, that's what the forum is here for
