Munson and Rissling outstanding. No kovacs and Guptill looks like he made a pit stop at Greggs shortly before face off.

Munson starts. Decent period. Chances both ends. At least it’s competitive!

Phillips is Mr OT! He seems to be the man for the clutch situations. Must be at least 3 times now he has been the scorer or provider for the OT goal.

Wonder if you have room for bob wren as well. Have been v disappointed with the three of them. Wren and capraro especially look lost on the big ice. I think at the moment we are paying first line wages for third line production. Need to cut hard and replace at least two of them now. We have been lucky so far in a number of games and apart from Riga we don't seem to dominate at home as we should.

I look at this as potentially a pretty good signing. Similar situation to the Billy Ryan signing. Had a season off due to injury and clearly wanted to get a good year under his belt to get back into the AHL. If this guy had been fit last year we wouldnt see him over here. With the regularity of the call ups he would probably be one of two main 'defensive' d men in the coast line up and clearly can hold his own in the ahl given the stretches he has played. Decent size and will be a good skater. Beckett had been on the slide regards playing standards for 6 to 7 years - this guy could be a quality replacement. Add Werner and I think our D looks better this year than last (on paper)

Given a perfect world we may have signed someone with both, size, speed, aggression and an eye for goal - that type of player will not be looking for a spot in the Elite League during lock out.
I think this is a great signing - for me the biggest quality that Mckenna will bring is his ability to bring a team together, which for me is the biggest problem we have.
Our current captain does a good job with the refs but he is never going to be the motivator and controller that we need.
Mckenna has respect immediately at the club for his playing record, it also never hurts to try and impress a guy like this as he must have great contacts which should hopefully see some of our Canadians get their act together, even if its in a bid to create a favourable impression for when Mac goes home.
I think he will come in and take the players to another level, he doesn't seem the sort that will sit quietly whilst others cruise and he has the size to back up his comments even to our more abrasive members of the squad.
If anyone out there can remember the welcome that we gave Fred Perlini on his first skate out for the panthers it would be great to give Mac the same experience!!
