Maybe if the club had backed the then coach in how he wanted the club run over a certain pub/sponsor like you would expect a professional sports to do things just may have had a greater chance of ending differently. A certain pub/sponsor on Lower Parliament St?

Ali looks like a grinder forward deep in to play off season, he sports a mad beard. He's a good lad. Funnily enough I used to play hockey with him and "grinder forward" is pretty much his thing. He is a really good lad, I hope working for Panthers doesn't ruin him!!!

He says that it is non performance enhancing drug that he has taken. Can we assume that it is recreational then. Does that make any difference for the length of the ban? What was he thinking? As I posted elsewhere...

Very short memories on some people. Extremely short. But you know, for even the most vocal folks, it seems their team winning stuff is ultimately all they truly need. Even in the Panther's Grand Slam season there were many cautious voices among the fanbase, quite rightly as subsequent events have shown. If only we had an owner who sat on the bus with us and brought a round now and then, the ills of the EIHL would disappear overnight....

So if I enjoy myself most weeks going to the games, am I blinded by the product, or burying my head. I'm sorry but, given how vocal you were regarding the EIHL etc when Cardiff were a basket case team, being dragged through the mud by incompetent owners, your 'Road to Damascus' like conversion smacks firmly of "I'm alright Jack". Just because everything is now rosy in Cardiff doesn't make it so across the entire EIHL.

I'll let one of you watch it again and report back. Once was enough for me I'd rather crap in my hands and clap than watch the Nottingham Panthers very own Comical Ali talking hairy sphericals again.

Reading the forum as I still do, it's the same comments and concerns from back then. Yep, and often the same people bleating about "something must be done", before they mention how, as they have a season ticket already it doesn't make sense to boycott games etc. The Panthers fanbase have the ownership group they deserve. One that is as equally pathetically half-hearted, liable to make grand statements then do naff all and seemingly happy, when all the dust has settled, to just plod on in the same manner they always have.

Regarding the security procedures at the Arena, they are merely 'security theatre' to give the punters the feeling that they are doing something. From my experience (having worked in a role within the military that required such knowledge) there are multiple failings in the Arena's procedures if you scratch beneath the veneer.
- The security procedures you experience before events are only ramped up immediately before said events. Outside of these times there is a laughably lax attitude to security, with multiple places around the venue accessible without challenge, where a device or items could be stashed for later retrieval.
- To compound the above, minimal security sweeps are performed before events meaning; A) Any such pre-positioned devices/items are unlikely to be discovered and; B) If a so-inclined person were to turn up at the venue early enough they will avoid the security screening and merely have to hang around for a bit within the venue, say sat drinking a coffee in one of the convenient cafes/bars.
- The actual security screening itself is ineffective. As already mentioned few (if any) of the staff who were operating the 'wands' seem to understand how to use them and the quality of bag searches was incredibly hit and miss. As someone who regularly carries a hockey bag into the venue and has whilst the searches are in place, I've only ever experienced lip service searching no more than opening the zip and looking in. Funnily enough you can fit a lot into a hockey bag and its something that doesn't look out of place being taken into the National Ice Arena. Of course I'm sure a potential terrorist wouldn't notice such things though...
- The funnelling of attendees pre-search into relatively unprotected but congested areas both presents an attractive target for explosive devices, but also (on Lower Parliament Street) the far simpler 'truck vs pedestrians' type attacks that have proved so effective in France, Spain and elsewhere.
There are other failings but I think you get the picture.

The instance by Moran and Black to keep Strachan and Green in a job, rather than allow Chernomaz to bring in his own coaching team, was hardly a good start.
Dan Green did the square root of nowt as a player and doesn't appear to be doing much more as a 'coach'. I just hope he is better in his other jobs-for-the-boys role as accommodation wallah.

Only with the concept of belittling people's opinions without or rather than adding anything of value (or just keeping schtum) Antoine. I don't particularly like the stuff you and your chums come out with on TCW, so I do the adult thing and avoid it, rather than post vacuous comments about your output.

You know what the thread is about Biglad... Don’t like it? You don’t have to click on it... Apparently 'expressing an opinion on a podcast' > 'expressing an opinion on a forum'.

Nowt. Eventually spiral down from passionate interest and support into realisation and apathy until the point iv'e now reached (which I never thought I would) where I only go if I get a free ticket and barely manage to clap when we score. Such a shame and I know i'm not alone. Sport really shouldn't be like this.... Neil Black doesn't care who buys tickets, just as long as someone does. Things will only change when the bottom line takes a hit.

Why is it always the Giants and Belfast that gets these North American teams over. Its an easy sell given the huge amount of 'plastic paddies' that inhabit the east coast of the US, an area that, coincidently, has a large concentration of NHL teams.

Why do Panthers always seem to get so many bloody injuries? Possibly because Panthers seem to sign players with histories of injuries? I wonder how much cheaper such players are than non-crocked ones? That said, buy cheap buy twice... (Jon Rheault had a C-spine injury in 2017 that put him out for the rest of the season.)

I find it baffling that folks think that "youngsters" are in any way unaware of or shocked by foul language.
I've heard worse language from pupils at the school gates than I've ever heard at the NIC.

So bad i believe they deleted the footage before too much of the wider hockey world saw it. 😂 As bad as the 'bag 4 life' draw, featuring two items marked 'Sheffield' (a ball and a puck?) in the bag?

Just come out of work, switched my phone on and got this good news. Excellent.
Did Cardiff resort to flopping again, trying to draw penalties? As good as they are, if things aren't going their way, they seem to like falling all over the place to try and fool the refs.

I said directly to Mr Black at the Q+A a couple of years ago,and Black did not disagree or even seek to argue it that, there is one league table that Panthers will always be bottom of by a considerable distance. That is the hypothetical league table that would show the % of their income each team spends on players......with Panthers rock bottom of it by a long long way. Mr Black did not even try to argue or defend it in any way,he just smiled smugly and didn’t know what to say. Says it all for me. Don't forget that Black is often little more than a mouthpiece for those mysterious Bermudians.

If the Panthers management act fast they'll be able to get one of these delivered before Cardiff roll into town. I recommend the Panthers players lube up well to avoid being taken dry.

...surely a minimum of 500 punters at a tenner a time 5k shouldn’t be sniffed at. I doubt that 500 people would all, individually, purchase a stream.

Whilst O'Connor can score goals if allowed to wander the Steelers have nothing to counter the forecheck that this Panthers squad have previously shown they can do so well.
Steelers also have a distinct lack of testicular fortitude on their bench, so hit them hard, pen them in their zone and (legally) target the few half decent players they have. If they're knocked about and on the back foot in front of their home crowd they'll get frustrated and start lashing out, picking up penalties.
If the Steelers fans get frustrated and start getting on the back of their team, even better.

Excellent. Here's hoping the Panthers forecheck gives him robust welcome back to the EIHL.

Whilst I've no doubt that he'd return to the Steelers if he comes running back to the UK it'd be quite funny if Barrasso didn't want him and put his foot down about it.
Other than being a Brit, what does he offer that couldn't be got for cheaper in the import market?
For the money they'd have to pay him you could probably get a lot better.
