Some people should give Hull and the Caps some credit, Hull have taken polints of everyone exept Belfast, apart from the 10 - 4 reverse against newcastle (and that dosnt count now a it was in the cup and weve qualified over them!!), and the away game in Belfast away game where we were never at the races,we could have won every game we have played
Mnacheser beat us 3-1 , but on another night against a goalie not standing on his head in Wolfe we would have won easily we rained 44 Sogs on him that night and he made at least 5 out standing saves. Even Tambo a respected Manchester/Ayr fan said we were unlucky that night and it was Wolfes best performance.
Belfast beat us at Home, 4-3 but we were 3-1 up and they only scored the winning goal in the last couple of minutes.
Cardiff when we lost in overtime, we were by far the better team and in the OT they scored on their first Sog to our 6
Added to the fact that Beilik is on fire at the moment and we have the second fewest goals agaisnt 23 from 10 games , only Cardiff have fewer 16 from 7 ........... you can see why we are hard to break down. One of the biggest resons for this is our 3 line D rotation that never tires........Gomenuyk and Dave Phillips.........Young and Ladygin and Kev Phillips and either Boothroyd or Lee, gives the rest of the D men a break and helps focus the team, rather than knacker them out doing 3-4 minute shifts like Sheffield and to a certain extent yourselves
I wouldnt be surprised to see you hammer Sheffield over the weekend , your team has far more offensive threat than Sheffield who are resticted to give it to Tessier and hope he scores, other than Phil Hill they have very little offensve threat this seaosn for some reason.
Coupled with the fact that you have gone through a mini slump, I bet your lads are chomping at the bit to have a go at Sheffield.

great post scoobster, agree with everything you put, especially about giving the caps and stingrays credit, if the smaller teams put out big performances and rival the bigger more established teams it can only be a benefit to the league and hockey.

Don't worry Scoobs - a lot of people have rightly said that Hull played well on Wednesday (ditto Edinburgh on Saturday). But you have to admit... the Panthers DID play badly - else it wouldn't have been as "EE-ZEE EE-ZEE" as it was...

we did the Easy chant because I got some grief for doing it in Hull from some fans on our forum, saying it was disrespectfull, and it could come back to haunt us !...........Im sure the players were traumatised by having to endure Easy chants !
Back on topic, it is grating on us bit that when ever we beat a team, some fans, and most coaches say its becuase they played rubbish,.......on this thread ther is a comment that Sheffield would hammer Panthers if they played like that.........Im not so sure, At the moment we are better than Sheffield, Sheffield fans are also guilty of this, Coventry as well, somewhere along the line the common demominater might just register, that just becuase teams have come from an inferior league and look to have no superstars, they mght jut be in the position they are in because they are actually a good TEAM.
Some Sheffield fans dont like it when we gloat , when we win, saying that we are no more than fans who want to be the little team who upsets the big bouys now and again. ........... That really hacks me off even more, and makes me wind them up even more , its like we are invading their league and we are there just to make up the numbers, much the same as the premiership in football when the men in the know...ie journalists , always dismiss the lkes of Everton 2 seasons ago, Spurs last season and Pompey this season.
One of the reasons tht we all wathc sport is that it is unpredictable, it IS pure theatre......... there are NO certainties.......... Big teams WILL underperform now and again, and there WILLbe some surprises, along the way.

,.......on this thread ther is a comment that Sheffield would hammer Panthers if they played like that.........Im not so sure. It was me who said that and I stand by the comment. But hey, if we all agreed there'd be no point of having a forum.

Personally, I didn't blame the Hukk fans for doing the "Easy" on Wednesday, and I still don't now. The Hull team played well, the Nottingham team played poorly, and the win for Hull was so much easier than it should have been.
