I wouldn't rule him in or out. He's a prize prat but is happy to take a beating. Yes he takes a lot of PIMs but he often takes an expensive import to the box with him for those PIMs. If he's generally kept off the ice (and therefore not likely to take many silly PIMs) and costs next to nothing in terms of cash or import slots then I don't reckon I'd be too disappointed in having him on our side. Nail on head I wouldn't be gutted if Sharp left, but I would like to see him back next season. Look at the game at he NIC. We were down by a couple, Nielson had just got a penalty so Matsos sends Sharp out to fight Ndur. You have 2 import D men in the box, we score. Admittedly it was too little too late, but it worked. I would have liked to have seen Matsos use that tactic more often. There are too many ego's in this league to keep turning Sharp down. Ndur, Clouthier & Cornish proved that last season. Sharp had them all sat in the box for 5 mins plus, meaning their team were effectively a man down (In numbers, if not quality), who takes a regular shift. The Steelers were still rolling three full lines. If he was classed as an import, no way. But holding a British bench warming slot, every day of the week.

A player that knows his role, is cheap, doesn't take up a import slot and has the experience of playing on a title winning team. I can fully understand why people would turn their nose up at him. He brings more to the team than a guy like Ferrera does. Agreed, but if I was picking the team we'd already have the toughest enforcer in the league (and 'team toughness' lol.) I think it's a bit embarresing if we had to resort the sending Sharpe off the bench to take a beating. fair play to him for stepping up but I felt a bit sorry for him when Rumun battered him, It was cringe worthy. I want my team to win all fights, import enforcers just laugh him off until there is nothing to loose, then batter him when they want to, which lifts their crowd. Neither player landed a decent punch. It was a nothing fight....... www.dropyourgloves.com/Fights/GameEvents.aspx?Game=241864&Fight=233441#Fight233441

so ill re iterate, the guy is dirt happy to go out and rough things up and cause problems (similar to everyones favorite.... brucie) however because he doesnt score (except I think one he got last season?) and cant fight he costs next to nowt, doesnt take anyone else ice time or an import slot.
But because hes a goon and a 'thug' people dont want him? Who cares about Nottinghams reputation.... most clubs and their fans seem to have some eternal hatred of us anyway.
Even if he goes out and no choices some young kid in a cage we havent lost anything except this moral highground that everyone seems to value higher than winning anything

Come on John, You won eveything else last year. At least let us have that one.
I was very close to the fight and Rumun punched him in the face twice.

I think Sharpe took a few decent puches too the back of the head and was hanging on for dear life.

But because hes a goon and a 'thug' people dont want him? No, I don't want him because he's a rubbish goon/thug. If the idea of one of ours getting sent out to get beaten up every week really appeals to you lot then fair enough, personally I find it hugely deflating to see ours lose a fight, even if it was Sharp, I don't sit there thinking "Well at least Cloth Ear's in the box for 5 minutes" or whatever. Maybe that's just me.

Are you serious? Funniest thing i've heard on the Cage ever. No where near a Sharp win or a draw for that matter.

Read the link I posted. They were reports on the fight, a lot by neutral fans. That is who I was referring to by "most". I.e. most on that website! Count the quality punches landed by Ndur (two at most), then count the quality punches landed by Sharp (2/3 at most). It was a nothing fight with few "scoring shots" landed. If you think Ndur "owned" Sharp, or however else you wanna put it, cool by me. I know the truth. ;D Anyway, not the topic of the thread. If you were to sign Sharp he could become very useful, if utilized in the right way. If he's pap, then what have you lost?

He's a Brit, probably be on expenses plus pocket money. We didn't lose a roster spot this season, rolled with 3 full lines without him. As an import, you would be mad to have him. But he's not.
