Taken from THF:
Gyori - Cardiff (looks very good) Surma - CV is being circulated around EIHL. Looks decent and has 2 NHL games. Huppe - Hull

McAslan to Sheffield along with Verner & McAllister. I don't think so. Hope not.

Romford There are apparently plenty of people there who remember him playing juniors there. And probably the reason he went to them last season

A point every 10 games Throw in the fact he gets beat up every time he tries to tangle with a decent(ish) scrapper and the guys a legend Seriously - the guys a classless joke, crap player; complete cretin; a poor mans Payette and thats saying something

Braff to Panthers according to THF. I'd have him to replace Hill, always wanted Braff in a Panthers shirt.

No hits; no aggression; few points and only half decent passer. Sorry, he's a gonner for me and Braff would be a very good replacement but would we take him instead of McAllister? Or would we find room for both?

Thought he was to Sheffield. Is he? Easy choice then if that's the case but i didn't know big Mac was going to Shuff. Last I heard was the rumour he was coming to us. That's all it was (a rumour) and I wasn't saying he was coming here but there is a 10 page thread on the subject that never put the rumour to bed one way or the other

Who knows.

Oh come on Matt this is the usual 5 million rumours of players signing for sheffield and they end up with none of them... i mean come on Macaslan, where the hell would he fit in into an ultra defensive setup they have there? As far as Hill was concerned i heard it was him or Forsyth who went to cov and i know they got the better deal there As for Braff hasnt he retired? Would love him and Big Mac to play for panthers but i dont have to put the jigsaw together and i wouldnt have a clue how both would fit into whatever system (assuming we have one) Nelisen decides upon for next season... It is obvious this season that tight defences win trophies so whether ALL teams go for that approach next year is yet to be seen but if they do god will it be a long season....

Braff is a brilliant d-man, probably one of the only guys I'd rate as good as Munn in the all round defensive d-man role.
It depends how much we want to invest on our D but we could definitely find room for Braff and McAllister. Braff is a big physical d-man wh can handle himself but is no way an enforcer, would add to team toughness though. If we were to have another d-man enforcer then having one of the d-men as good as Braff alongside hopefully Toneys and Neilson would be crucial.
Neilson, Toneys, Braff, McAllister and Richardson would be a brilliant D, not many teams would look forward to mixing it with them thats for sure.
As for McAllister going to Sheffield, I doubt it. Who would they drop from there settled D for him, unless they fancy going for five import d-men then it wouldn't happen, and no team could ever do that.

Sheffield wont keep their D together. Munn, Sarich & Dagenais will probably be off, same with Basiuk.
Munn's uni course is up so if they want him they will have to pay him proper wages so unless they make him assistant coach they'll get outbid by better teams from better leagues.

Baz should be back, he's on the 2nd year of his Uni course. We are tring to find Munn a good job here, so he can stay on, and Danger has hinted he would like to return. I think most fans are resigned to the fact we will lose at least two, but which ones is not set in stone yet.

I heard that they're trying to find Munn a job in sheffield he can have and continue playing for another year, so next year he can find a career and have a bit of experience in it. Sarich is looking at staying, maybe partly due to his sheffield girlfriend (I did hear it was seth bennet's sister) Basiuk did say I believe on the steelers radio programme that he was coming back for the 2nd year of his uni course. Dagenais looks to be off to europe though, and good luck to him. An outstanding season, and he harldy got any credit for it. Good luck randy

Neilson is one of the best offensive d-men in the league and Richardson is naturally a forward and improving all the time. Anyway, you guys only really had Sarich last season.

I'd much rather our D concentrate on defense anyway, i'm not saying it's not a good thing to have the d-men supporting the forwards but in the past few seasons we've had a far too offensive D and it hasn't worked out.

Plus when you consider we had a very talented offense, do we need more than one offensive d-man?

Neilson is one of the best offensive d-men in the league and Richardson is naturally a forward and improving all the time. Anyway, you guys only really had Sarich last season. We had Danger that pushed Sarich point for point this season. Plus Baz with one of the best shots in the league from the point, especially on the powerplay. I'm a firm believer that you need one out and out offensive D man (such as Sarich, Neilson etc.) then one who can do both jobs equally as well as the other, such as Danger or Teplitsky. Then go for two stay at home D men. With our forward lines missing an out and out points machine, it was essential that we had decent production from the back, and from more than one guy. I don't think with the wage cap and budget, you can get enough production from three forward lines to have 4 very low scoring D men.
