Really sad at this news, a top photographer, and as others have said, a top guy. My sincere condolences to Dave's family, hockey fans all over no matter what team they follow, are behind you at this hard time.
RIP.
Oliver.

A good mate and a true professional today is a huge loss. I will be there Saturday to take my hat off to a top bloke. We used to have great chats and chew the fat during those mundane times.
I went to visit Dave upon my return from China on Saturday evening and I gave him one of my GB tshirts - he was in reasonable spirit. I thought he was going to pull through and I anticipated visiting again this week.
When I heard the news today I was gutted to say the least. Thanks for the big hug we had at your bedside Saturday it will live with me forever - RIP mate.

I have just read the entire thread and I have to say what lovely tributes to Dave people have given.
We have several of Dave's pictures, including the one Kim has put up. The pictures of both myself and Jono from the Rink Rush game are just fantastic.
Dave, you will be remembered for your awesome pictures, for the memories you have captured on film, that we all have in our homes to cherish and remember you by every time we look at them.
Let's hope they have hockey wherever you are in heaven, so that you can carry on taking your awesome pictures up there.
Rest in Peace Dave.
Love Helen and Jono Mrs B and GEB (my mum and dad)

R.I.P. Dave. A thoroughly good bloke. Your memory will live on in our household with the many fantastic hockey photographs that we've accumulated over the last 6 or 7 years. Our thoughts are with your family.

I never met Dave but the sheer number and sincerity of all the messages listed here speak volumes for him. Should his family read them, I hope and expect it will be of comfort to them to see quite how highly regarded he was by all who had the pleasure of having him in their life.
With thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.

Although I never knew Dave personally just by spending five minutes reading through this thread shows what an unmeasurable loss Dave will be to our fanbase.
Reading what people have put really has brought a tear to my eye, obviously Dave meant a massive amount to a lot of people, showing more than anything else ever could just what a gentlemen Dave was.
Sleep well fella

Totally shocked by this news. Didn't know Dave well, but he was kind and generous and a huge presence at all the games - we all knew who he was.
He will be missed by all who knew him, but my thoughts are with his wife and son.
RIP Dave

When something like this happens and takes everyone by surprise, words like shocked, saddened and stunned don't really seem big enough, but they are all we have.
Many people leave us too early, and Dave, you left your family and friends far too early.
Thank you for your photos, thank you for the advice on photography you offered me and thank you for our occasional chats on the concourse of various rinks round the country.
We shall miss your excellent work, and I shall miss a smile, a nod and a hello on many Saturdays to come.
My sympathies go out to your family and all those in the hockey community who knew you far better than I did, the world has lost a damn fine bloke.
Mark

Gutted! I really feel like my insides have been ripped out.
I didn't know Dave well, but when I had my photo taken with the trophies, with dozens in the queue, I noticed that he took time to get each one perfect and still made the effort to chat with everyone.
He took the photo of the supporters club handing over the cheque for Relay for Life. Put them in a mount for everyone in the picture and wouldn't accept a penny.
He would always stop for a chat if you wanted to talk, whether he knew you or not.
Top bloke, top photographer. Pagey will be sadly missed by a lot of people. My heart goes out to his family.
The measure of a man is counted by the number of friends he has. This thread says everything!
Rest well Dave.

When I saw the news a bit earlier I was like most people completely shocked by the news, after his stroke last week and the reports of him being slowly on the road to recovery I had visions of him been back between the benches at the NIC in the near future, but obviously that tragically was not to be the case.
Todays heartbreaking news for his family is obviously something that cannot easily be put into to words, all our sympathy goes to them. To the many hockey friends he made, and even those who just knew him by sight, it means that we all lost someone who was made a big impression in many of our lives through the quality of his work and how he went about it.
I know that this Saturdays game was going to be quite an intense evening, but I feel that a Full NIC, with Panthers and Steelers fans United in either total silence or loud with applause for Dave would be a fitting tribute to him.
I know this may sound odd but maybe as a lasting tribute the Panthers could do something such as naming the spot between the benches after him ("Pager's Perch/Corner" perhaps?) and/or even put a picture of him there as a mark of respect?
There's really only one more thing to say,
RIP Dave - you will be missed

i only ever spoke to dave once which was in pre season at peterborough, he was an approachable friendly chap and as others have said never heard a bad word against him.
i have 3 pieces of his work the 2 books from last season and a pic of the team with the challenge cup and the quality of his work was a credit to the sport.
what a tragic loss, thoughts to his friends and family, rest in peace dave.
