Leeds Rhino's had a 6 point lead last season mid way, they ended up losing the league, I'm hoping this happens to Saints and this time Rhino's take the league As long as we can take the win in the Grand Final ;D

Monday 1st June Big news!! Sean Long announces he is leaving Saints at the end of the season to play for Hull FC Details here and hereHe is a Saints legend and still a good player, but his pace is waning and his dead-ball kicking has been atrocious this season. However, his kicking in play has been better this season than the last two. What does Mrs scoobster think? So could the Challenge Cup be heading for a Saints-Wigan final? I know we have to beat Huddersfield and they have to overcome Warrington, which could be a big ask for them anyway. But it could well be?

I love Sean Long, i must be having a nightmare! Long has had his time Adam, on Saturday he kicked just 2 from 4 conversions, Kyle Eastmond hit 8 from 8. Fair play to Long, he went off after 27 minutes and I don't know where the kicks were taken from. He has been a favourite for some years it is time to let him go......to come back and bite us in the ass for 2 seasons. ;D

"What does Mrs Scoobster think" Shes quite happy with the signing, but some of my mates at work are a bit sceptical. No denying he is still a good player and is better than what they have at the moment, but he is going to be 34 by the time he plays for Hull and that is no sprng chicken age in superleague. That coupled with the other Dads Army candidates they Hull have in new signing Fitzgibbons and the aging pack of Radford ,et all smacks of papering over the cracks for Hull FC management. Over at the better half of the city apart from Fozzard and the teenage Stanley Gene most of the Rovers players havnt reached their peak yet. One big thing to worry about with regards to his signing is his wages, he wont be cheap, niether will Ftzgibons and any other import they bring over from Australia those two plus new signing and Berrigan will make a massive dent in their Salary Cap, especially when their crowds are dwindling at an alarming rate at the moment, this has a bearing on next years salary cap. With regards to other St Helens player moving to Hull........ I would place a little bet on Wilkin moving back to Rovers in the next couple of seasons

Micheal Dobson thinks we are a bigger club than St helens, he has just snubbed a move to St helens and signed a 2 year extension to his contract here !

Haha you can dream on as well lad, he wants to play for a BIG club... Micheal Dobson thinks we are a bigger club than St helens, he has just snubbed a move to St helens and signed a 2 year extension to his contract here ! SUPER LEAGUE HONOURS SUPER LEAGUE WINNERS: 1996, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2006. WORLD CLUB CHALLENGE HONOURS: 2001, 2007. CHALLENGE CUP HONOURS: 1996, 1997, 2001, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008. BBC SPORTS TEAM OF THE YEAR: 2006. LEAGUE LEADERS’ SHIELD: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008. Haha aye obviously bigger club the mighty Hull KR are. He obviously has no ambition and doesn't wanna contend for any trophies in his career, his choice i suppose... In other news i've just been reading up on Saints new signing for next season Sia Soliola, i cant bloody wait to see him play next season. Looks immense!

Another slip from the Rhinos, thanks to those Frenchies, sees Saints 3 points clear of Hull KR and 4 in front of Leeds and Huddersfield.
Lets keep this going then Saints!

Another superb display by Saints ripping Cas 50-10 even without Graham and Roby, Eastmond seemed to impress again along with the young kid Lomax. Now 5 points clear after Hull KR got smashed at home by Quins.

Oh dear Paul Wellens. 0 from 6 and we lose 22-20. It's all going a bit Pete Tong. I really don't get it. Saints must realise now that when Sean Long moves on next season they will only have one decent kicker. I am sure that Fridays result would have been different had Kyle Eastmond not have been out with mumps. But he was out and wellens proved he is no goal kicker. Why on earth he took the penalty in the dying seconds after he had missed 5 from 5 conversions, is beyond me. Surely Matt Gidley or Jon Wilkin should have been given the task. The worst part was that no-one was even prepared to kick the ball on the last tackle. The lack of confidence in that department, from the top team in the Superleague, is nothing less than astonishing. The injury list continues to get longer. James Roby broke his hand on Friday and will miss 4 weeks. Francis Meli picked up a hamstring problem. Jonny Lomax needs a scan on his ankle and could be out for 6 weeks if it proves as serious as is thought. edit: Paul Wellens also suffered from a broken hand and will miss 4 weeks. That is on top of:- Gary Wheeler out 4 weeks - calf injury, Maurie Fa'asavalu - 10 weeks - broken arm Sean Long - 8 weeks - broken jaw And we still can't play in the rain!!

A big thank you to Wigan Warriors for beating the Rhino's but next week it is Saints hosting the Wigan pie-eaters in what could be a very tricky game given the amount of players we have missing.

SUPER KYLE EASTMOND! That lad is going to be a star. Just hope he dont go switching codes. Great performance considering the amount of players we had missing. How bad is Amos Roberts?

Booo thats all i have to say! Injuries caught up with us? I don't think injuries had much to do with the defeat. Huddersfield have the best defence in Superleague and showed on sunday how difficult they are to break down even when they make so many handling errors. Saints now have a serious problem with their kicking game. Eastmond still lacks in confidence with his in-game kicks and is not being helped by the fact that Pryce and Wilkin are reluctant to kick. With Sean Long off to Hull next season I can see Saints slipping in the manner of Wigan. The youngsters have to step up and the coach needs to look at improving the kicking game and not trying to run every time on the last tackle.

Cas I support the Panthers and Notts County. I have a thing for lovable losers. Good grief. Same three as me, Kim. Support Cas because when I was a mere sprog, every Saturday afternoon on Grandstand they had the second half of a rugby league game. Even at that young age I could appreciate Cas's half-back pairing of Alan Hardisty and Keith 'King of the Interception' Hepworth, one of the greatest half-back pairings of all time. In the days when I used to travel regularly to games, Castleford was always one of my favourites. I remember standing next to a Yorkshire man-of-few-words at a game there who told me with admirable brevity that the chap standing in front of him at the previous week's game had dropped dead in front of him. "I knew he were dead 'fore he hit t'floor". Continuing the lovable losers theme, I was also a proud, paid-up member of the Huyton and Doncaster Appreciation Society. Still got the badge. These clubs set extraordinary records for futility and inspired that wonderful documentary 'Another Bloody Sunday'. The programme is here if any of you have an hour to spare. Brilliant programme if you've never seen it. Proper rugby league in my view, played by men who look like what rugby league players should look like on a pitch that resembles a ploughed field. 'Make sure you didn't get to the game too early or else you were playing.' ;D Another Bloody Sunday 1Another Bloody Sunday 2Another Bloody Sunday 3Another Bloody Sunday 4Another Bloody Sunday 5Another Bloody Sunday 6

Cracking game at Craven park today when Hull KR destroyed St helens 26-10 the scoreline flattered Saints as Rovers had 3 tries dissallowed 2 of them shouldnt have been, and Saints scored with the last play of the ball to give them another 6 points.
Boy did they miss the leadership of Cunningham today, and they will miss him even more next season, also they missed Longs kicking game as they only kicked 2 40/20s in the first half with a strong wind behind them.
To be fair they looked jaded from last weeks game and rovers had the benifit of an extra weeks rest.
Rovers just coming into a rich vien of form at the moment just at the right time. This just about cements Hull KR in 4th, but cold cost Saints the league title and home game in the eliminating play off game

Nothing else is stopping us but injuries, there is no better team in the league than us when we are at full strength and thats a fact. Who we currently have out injured at the moment: Sean Long Jason Cayless Keiron Cunningham Kyle Eastmond Jonny Lomax Chris Dean Tom Armstong Maurie Fa'asavalu Thats off the top of my head, there maybe more fringe players im not sure. Take them players out of the team and anybody would struggle. Im hoping we'll have a few of them back for the Playoffs or it'll end up wrecking our season, it's (probably) already cost us top spot and a challenge cup final place..
