signed for CSG Strasbourg - currently 7th in French league. Which will probably quash the runours of him coming back, or working in the chippy.

i think having pelletier back would be good he did very good job for us last year!!! Oh my word,.. you've done it now !! Now the signing has been announced,.. I can pass on that Steve turned down 3 Elite League clubs over the summer,.. with a view to joining a mainland European team later in the season,.. which ultimatly turned out to be Strasbourg.

I can pass on that Steve turned down 3 Elite League clubs over the summer Edinburgh, Hull and Basingstoke? I liked Pelts' attitude to the club, you'd never fault his commitment, but he's the last thing our current D needs.

Steve will do a good job for a team who need an offensive d-man to play along side a very good stay at home guy.

Because commiment isnt team play, preparing fully for every game and working hard on improving as a player, its pointlessly diving at pucks and skating round like a headless chicken Il leave it at that, dont wanna drag it all up, hope it works out well for the guy in France.

Thommo was trying desperately to sign pelletier over the summer, not sure who the other 2 teams were.

The teams were us, Belfast and Edinburgh. Corey asked Pelts back but he declined. Straight from SP himself

Just because the only reason you've got to dive at the thing is because you've been caught out of position, again, doesn't alter that I'd never heard the Cardiff thing before Andy, agree that's not what you want to hear.

Not having ago Rich, but you slate Pelletier for diving around at pucks, but didn't Shymr do the same thing? I seem to remember everyone applauding Shymr for diving at pucks.
As for diving at pucks it does show commitment. How can it not?

Not having ago Rich, but you slate Pelletier for diving around at pucks, but didn't Shmyr do the same thing? I seem to remember everyone applauding Shmyr for diving at pucks. As for diving at pucks it does show commitment. How can it not? There is a world of difference between diving at shots coming in from point on a PP (ala Shmyr and plenty of other guys around the league) and hitting the deck when a guy is going past you in defence. Its impossible to say its a good thing or a bad thing, its all about timing. It would be like people praising Simoes for finishing his hits on the oppositions D men, people applaud that, yet when Ndur does it (when we played down in Coventry) he rightly got slated. There is a situation where it works and a situation where it doesnt. That said, im not a fan of diving at pucks or blocking shots generally. Iv always been a beleiver in letting the netminder see the shot and making sure you clear the rebound every time. The difference again though is a winger on the PK can get back up before he is called upon again, whereas a D man needs to in position and on his feet to clear the net and get to the rebounds. I just hate expressions like "it shows so much commitment diving at shots". The actual act takes guts, of course it does, but being commited to the team and your team mates aint all about shot blocking! Id rather he was in the gym every day, ate the right food, was a real team guy, worked on parts of his game which were poor and was tucked up in bed for 9pm the night before a big game.... thats commitment to the team. (not a dig at Pelletier, but thats more of a definition of a "commited" player imo)

Rich so what is your opinion of Jade then? If he showed half the guts, commitment, will to win as pelts showed i would be happier about him, i realise you play so you see things i miss, but he always appeared to be giving 110% every game, whereas Jade appears to be picking up the money for very little, so just wondered how you would equate the two players!

Fair question! Jade is still new though, I didnt dislike Pelletiers style after a few weeks, it took months of him not learning from his mistakes before it grated on me If Jade doesnt improve, people stop giving him allowances and get on his back. However hes got potential and could turn it around, compared to SP who didnt have the top level experience. Thats the only thing in his favour and since you asked my opinion, Id be looking out for guys who can bring more to the team if I was Corey. On a personal level, I dont mind average forwards, I just dislike Defensemen who arnt in a position to defend a lot of the time. Hence I like Ferrara as a third line winger but cringe everytime he steps over the boards at the moment.
