Carl 'the cobra' Froch's preparations for his forthcoming WBC super middleweight defence against Jermain Taylor at the Foxwoods resort, in Connecticut, are stepping up with the help of former foe turned friend, Jean Pascal. Froch, who is currently based in Canada is in the shape of his life and promises fans that he will be Taylor's scalp home back to Britian after the 25th. "Sparring Pascal has great for my preparations. I'm firing on all cylinders and anyone who don't tune in on the 25th will be missing a mouthwatering tear-up"

ITV Secures Delayed Rights to Froch V Taylor Sports fans will get the opportunity to watch delayed coverage of Carl Froch’s first defence of his WBC World Super Middleweight Title against Jermain Taylor on free-to-air television after ITV Sport secured the exclusive delayed rights to broadcast one of the biggest fights of the year less than 24 hours after it takes place. Britain’s only reigning World Champion will put his belt on the line against former undisputed Middleweight Champ, Taylor at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut this Saturday. The fight will be shown on a delayed basis on ITV4 at 8.30pm on Sunday (April 26th) and repeated on ITV1 at 11.15pm the same evening. Froch’s title winning thriller against the then unbeaten Jean Pascal was broadcast live on ITV1 last December while ITV4 also broadcasts free-to-air boxing as part of a deal with Froch’s promoter Mick Hennessy. Recent fights have featured top names from the Hennessey Sports stable including Darren Barker, John O’Donnell, John Murray, Jon Thaxton and heavyweight sensation, Tyson Fury. Regards, The Carl Froch Team.

Sounds like Froch has been taken to school. Pity. Yeah right!!!!! Carl...to be fair...wasn't in the fight for the 1st 6 rounds. Taylor, then ran out of steam, & in the final rounds he owned him. The final round had me screaming at the computer. DEFFO worth staying up, & seeing it live. DO watch it on ITV later today, if you haven't seen it already. CARL...you made NOTTINGHAM proud...AGAIN!

Get in there cobra ! Froch called out calzaghe after the fight Taylor, who did not dispute the referee's decision, said he would welcome a rematch, although Froch called out retired Welsh legend Joe Calzaghe after the fight.
"If he gets out of his armchair I will show everybody what I can do," Froch said.

now as big as a fan of carls i am and how proud i am of him retaining the title he needs to let this calzaghe thing drop.
calzaghe wont risk his record, he still wont get a big enough payday from carl and also lets face it carl was outclassed for much of the fight by taylor and calzaghe is better than taylor.
saying all of that still a big well done to carl!!!

Besides, carl put down largely due to him being off balance, Taylor got floored dure to the barrage of powerful shots. Pretty impressive display in unusual surroundings.
I can see a re match on the cards next

Taylor certainly bossed the 1st half of the fight (a tenner well spent watching the live great net coverage) - Froch stole the later rounds, & Froch needed the knock-out to seal victory. Taylor, floored Froch in the 3rd, but it didn't really trouble Carl TOO much, & he battled on regardless - & didn't appear to be hurt. There is now NO doubt that Carl Froch CAN take a punch - lesser fighters would have crumbled under such a barrage. At times Taylor seemed to be offering little (just defending) & at others he was landing some big bombs, which Carl took. It was mentioned before the fight that Jermaine Taylor, was a fast starter - & that he'd flag at the end, which seemed to be Carl Froch's tatics. Taylor did well to have stamina up until the 11th round - but by the 12th round the gas tank was empty, & Froch's stronger chin, fitness, & punches, took Taylor apart. I'd seriously dispute that Froch was 'lucky'. He's now proved he IS a worthy world champion, & has beaten 2 world class fighters in Pascal, & Taylor. Will he now get the recognition he deserves? I doubt it JUST yet - It took the likes of Joe Calzaghe 10+ years to get any sort of coverage/respect. I think Carl NEEDS another BIG victory or two to establish himself truly - I hope he does it. What next? Calzaghe is a no go - the guy doesn't need the fight, or the money. It'd be a corker if it ever was to happen though. A rematch with Taylor wont happen either I think. Carl needs to prove himself against other fighters 1st - a rematch with Taylor would be a side-step.I think the next bout will be against IBF super-middleweight champion Lucian Bute.
