im pretty sure i made this before, but i searched and went through 20 pages to check and couldnt find it. i figure that we keep the film thread for that and the tv stuff in here, so here it goes... higgy, have you seen the first episode of the new season of the wire? Ronnie is hardcore. also for everyone else theres this... www.e4.com/deadset/looks pretty good. also we have this... and this... (because it wouldnt be a tv thread without me banging on about those two )

also, i'm just watching the first episode of this new show on FX, its called Sons Of Anarchy and apparently it's loosely based around Shakespears Hamlet. heres the wiki page for it... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sons_Of_Anarchyso far it's pretty good. ron perlman, aka hellboy is one f the main characters, along with peggy bundy.

sweet, being made by FX, sons of anarchy has a crossover with the shield. both shows have the same street gang in it, the 1-9'ers.

dexter was ok when it followed the book, but as i understand it the writers didnt use the books for the second season. which is a shame, and it showed. was good enough in season 1 though.

What you on blud? The second season was like sex on toast. It wasn't written as the book was, but was written with plenty of input from Lindsay.

+1, great show. Just wish they wouldn't mess up the series when they release the DVDs over here.

pushing daises for sure, heroes coming back good move, also the ireland to sydney by any means good travel show. then you have Tess of the Durbervilles has been good so far on the beeb but they do drama better than any channel i find, Place of Execution on ITV is also pretty good, also i know this is not everyones taste but i enjoyed Sex in the City and i am liking Lipstick Jungle by the same writer got the same quirky humour.

The BBC don't do drama anywhere near as good as the Yanks.

Big fan of Flight Of The Conchords. Flight of the Conchords is awesome. Love it! If you like adventure/explorer programmes, anything with Bruce Parry in it is awesome. Amazon is on BBC2 at the moment (check out iPlayer for first 3 episodes).

at the minute im currently watching my way through the 4th season of 24. while entertaining as it is, i cant help but think the show is a little too 'hollywood' on the production side. it's a shame as it is a good show, enjoyable to a degree, but its just way too predictable.
i sometimes curse The Wire, for setting the bar so high. nothing i have seen since watching that show has come close.

The BBC don't do drama anywhere near as good as the Yanks. When it is classic literature as with thomas Hardy etc the yanks aint got a clue IMHO. Action drama maybe but that isnt Tess of the Durbervilles!

I'd rather watch something interesting than Tess of the Durbervilles though.
