It`s the fact that he would be taking himself out of the loop that could lead to a post at the Redwings.. I`m sure thats its not that easy for anyone to just step back into the same position again if he was to leave.
Unless it was with the Redwings agreement so he could gain more experience.

Why do we always about old players coming back to coach the Panthers? I can't help but think you're missing the point a little. It's not just any ex-Panthers player, it's a man who twice won the Stanley Cup, playing on one of the finest teams of the last decade and a man who has great hockey contacts, especially if he has been working in the AHL. Plus he might be able to attract players just on the basis that they will be working with Jim Paek. Provdided we have someone to tie up the British talent we already have he would be a great appointment.
