The Panthers don't do league titles. Not even Carlsberg can manage that!

He's clearly not looked at a paper since he last tried to buy a club.

Seems Coventry are trying to get everything they can out of Forest for Best, 2 bids already rejected today!
Oh and Celtic have had a bid accepted for Barry Robson so don't look like he's off to Forest either..

Coventry are being greedy, they can . Hoskins is to be our best bet i believe. Cov have already let two strikers leave recently and it makes sensefor them to ask for as much cash as possible? Kinda' makes sense doesn't it? Best got booed against Millwall the other day when he came on as sub, and there was a thinly veiled dig at him in one of the recent Coventry local rags, some Sky Blues fan moaning how there weren't many players like Richard Shaw anymore... *edited for typos*

"We're going to get all our business done early in the transfer window" - Colin Calderwood 6:20pm on deadline day and not a sausage from Forest. They're as good at spin as the Panthers!

What an absolutely hopeless and pathetic transfer window.

Have you actually signed anyone at all?
I know leeds have signed 4. could be more actually. But either way you have lost your chance now. You better pray you dont get any serious injuries to players like Commons otherwise your up the creek without a paddle.

I'm furious. I haven't felt like this for quite some time but Forest have made us fans look stupid, waiting and waiting for something to happen and it seems the only transfer activity in the transfer window will be OUT of the City Ground with Neil Lennon gone to Wycombe.
This is a joke, I genuinely feel like I'm watching Championship football slip away for another season. Well done Forest, what an absolute joke.

It's his fault for not having things in the works before opeing his mouth. Most teams broker deals prior to the window or atleast send out alot of feelers so they get enough time to make appropriate bids. It seems Forest failed in this.
And with the news of Lennon leaving. IMO yes he's not played last 10 games or so, but he is a class player and should you get injuries in midfield he would of been ideal as a backup. Ah well your loss, Whycombe's gain.

Calderwood has no say in the bidding or negotiations for players. As for Lennon, he wasn't supposed to get along with the players, was on too much money and wasn't around enough to warrant his incredible wages. Anyway, if he was any good, he'd get a better side than Wycombe.

of course calderwood has a say he singles out his targets. He said business would be done early in jan and it hasn't because he threw names around adding a premium to their price and he has been unable to deliver because he was too vocal thats why its his fault

Just seen this on BBC transfer live site.
2242: "Just walked past the City Ground - I saw Marlon Harewood go into reception with Calderwood by his side." Fletch, Notts, via text
Now i would laugh so hard if this comes off as being true.
And andyd your not alone in your thoughts
2232: I must admit, I'm a bit nervous about my club (Forest) not signing anyone now. Does anyone else think their team's season is in real trouble if they don't swoop in the next 88 minutes?
and a stab in the dark one that made me chuckle
2156: I have to give a mention, at last, to the great Faustino Asprilla. The Colombian headline-making sharpshooter has been mentioned in at least a thousand messages today, so it's only fair he gets a piece of the action. I would sell one of my brothers for him to sign for Forest today.

He singles out the targets, and Arthur does the bidding and negotiating. He's to blame, not CC.

One other thing that's just occured to me too, our main piece of transfer window business is to let our PRIZE SUMMER SIGNING walk away on a free transfer. Not only have we failed miserably (AGAIN) at playing transfer windows but we've got rid of the only player who created any buzz amongst the fans during the summer too. The club takes us all for mugs, I'm so embarrassed to be a Forest fan.

The Lennon thing didn't work out. We've got his messed-up ass off the wage bill, no problem there.

It's a sad fact about me that I'm still sat here thinking "we've signed two players, just haven't announced it yet", I'm such a mug, I KNOW deep down that that isn't true but I can't help myself. This night is an unmitigated disaster on the south bank of the Trent. I'm going to bed.

We have simply got to pray that we get no injuries between now and May, even then i don't know if we're good enough.

A paper thin squad. No experience beyond the back four. Negative tactics on away trips. Clueless substitutions throughout the season. I doubt it will finish any better than last season did.
Calderwood is on record as saying he does not like loan signings as they are not as comitted to the club. That route is his only lifeline now, as failure to promote has to mean his job.
