I'd take Warnock, i'd also take Billy back. Regardless of the way he left, I think he'd bring everyone back together.

I'm happy with everything that went on yesterday, SMc walking was the best thing that could happen, it meant that Doughty and Arthur were under no illusions that we're finally going to find out what goes on behind the scenes at Forest and how they lied to him and screwed up transfers and progress. I do have one worry that Mark Arthur is still at the club and in charge of the search for a new manager, he threatened the 'vocal minority' last week on Radio Nottingham by telling them to 'be careful what you wish for' and I just have this nagging feeling the next manager will be how he proves that as he doesn't have the best interests of Nottingham Forest anywhere on his list of priorities or we wouldn't be losing £10, £11, £12 million a year or whatever number they tell us it is next. Nail on the head. SM just didn't work. Fair play to him for walking away and not bleeding us dry, respect for that, experiment gone wrong, we move on. Nigel Doughty. Huge respect for having the balls to do what God himself suggested should happen when a chairman screws up in appointing a manager and paying with his own position. It isn;t quite crystal clear with Nigel though. I have huge respect for him as a bloke, and for what he has done for the club in terms of financial backing. My only negative feeling toward him is in respect of it taking him so long to realise that he would have been better as the financier, not the decision maker. He has made some really poor calls over the years with respect to the 'blue chip' elements of the business (football club). By that I mean on the stuff that really matters, like the first team and our goal to reach the premier league, I do believe his decisions have cost us massively. He had, in my mind, three clear opportunities to secure premier league football, probably more than three if you include less clear cut chances, but in terms of 'on a plate' I think we were within touching distance once with Paul Hart and twice with Billy. Investment at the right time would have been the very epitome of speculate to accumulate. Estimates vary wildly as to what he's put in, from £60m to £80m+ however i'm nigh on certain that a small chunk of that handed to Paul or Billy at any one of those three points would have seen us promoted and that £60 to £80m would look like small change versus the riches on offer from the PL. That said, there is no use crying over spilt milk and what's done is done. When Nigel came to the club we were in dire straits, he steadied the ship and whilst allegations of 'zero progress' are fairly accurate in terms of the league we occupy they are also a little embellished in terms of the financial state of the club - especially as he more or less confirmed on radio Nottingham, again, that the money he has put in he does not expect to get back (although I would like to hear that said categorically and without the politicians spin, as it sounds to me like there are caveats to it...). We also have an outstanding academy that he has championed and built up over time - something that will, if FFP is all he says it is, be priceless. So, above all, we have to say thanks to Nigel for what he's done for us, however I have one final gripe that perhaps overshadows my thanks... his choice of CEO.... I will be honest, I do not like Mark Arthur. I think he is a horrible, arrogant, self centered egotist who couldn't give two hoots about Nottingham Forest, it's employees and least of all it's fans. I know countless people who worked with and for him at NCCC and Forest, some still do so now - not one has a good word to say about him. Personally I have met him on a few occasions and it's done nothing to change my mind. He comes across as sly, as if he always has a hidden agenda, or at the very least thinks he's better than you. He is, and always has been, 70% of the problem. Billy's problem was, according to impeccable sources, 95% Mark Arthur and 5% Nigel Doughty. I can see why. Billy was not a man to be told what to do, least of all by a greasy corporate schmoozer like Arthur. As childish as it was I can well imagine that Billy's infamous '4 day weeks' and regular leaks of anger and frustration to the press were almost hand crafted to make Arthur's blood boil. Whilst the picture of the two of them conducting some sort of tit for tat feud is wholly disgraceful it's also wholly believable (and a negative reflection on Billy as well as MA). I hope and pray that the sole reason MA is still around is because the senior structure of the club is so thin that some continuity, albeit in the form of the main problem, was essential. Bar ND and MA the only other senior people cited as 'running' the club were a chief scout and an accountant. I really hope that once the club is stabilised following Sunday's turmoil Mark Arthur follows the lead of Nigel Doughty and moves on. Maybe then we can blossom the way that Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club did once they recovered from the years of mismanagement by their wayward and incompetent chief executive. Stan Collymore is right in everything he says about the club, we need our identity back. The Clough spirit, the Nottingham Forest way. I was nearly in tears listening to the guy on TalkSport last night. He gets this club like so few people, when he talks about Nottingham Forest with such a passion he reminds me of why, no matter what happens, I will always consider it a privilege to have grown up a fanatic of this great football club. Keep the faith, the good times will return.

Frank Clark is the new chairman First bit of good news for quite some time. I expect Frank Clark to have the club and it's fans best interests at heart. Let's hope he can marginalize Muppet Marthur.

It looks like Steve Cotterill will be the manager after Forest agree a compensation package with Portsmouth.

My posts of late have been fairly negative about the Reds (on and off the field). But last night against an unbeaten Middlesbrough side, what a turn around. One of the best performances ive seen in a while. Hopefully something to build on.

It looked like Boro had been watching the Reds after the easy tap in from Tudgay, he was alone in the six yard box.

20 year old defender Greg Cunningham joins Forest on-loan till the end of the year. The Rep of Ireland international comes from Man City as a replacement for Clint Hill who was recalled by Warnock due to an injury crisis at QPR.

He is a leftback mark. Can also play on the left side of midfield apparently.

I'm amazed it took a loan to get a LB in, but decent player though.

Good result for Forest against Reading. Defended well and counter-attacked well, did to them exactly what Hull did to us at the weekend. A quality turn and finish from Tudgay.

Has anybody else been following the @bigwes story? www.bigwes.com/blog.phpSuch an uplifting story in what has so far been an awful season. It is a great story. Something similar happened to a friend of mine. Her name is Chloe Simms and a few weeks ago her number of twitter followers went though the roof. She shares the same name as a TOWIE star and has been overwhelmed with tweets asking how her bum implants are.

FOREST 0-4 LEEDS Forest were found completely void of ideas and full of defensive frailties. A Leeds team that seemed to be pumped and feeding on the emotion from their fans after the tribute to Gary Speed, simply swept Forest aside. A dismal performance, and i did see a few season tickets being tossed onto the pitch after their fourth went in.

Single worst sporting decision in Nottingham last year?
Nottingham Forest sacking Billy Davies.
Who's looking foward to League 1 football next season?
