Probably gonna get 18 months. Unlike in this country where a player can leave prison and immediately join a club like Oldham, the NFL will ban Vick.
My guess is he'll get a year for dog fighting and a year for gambling. May well be longer. He hung and drowned dogs for fudges sake. How sick is that?!!
Either way that kills off the next 4 seasons which probably will end his career. He's young enough but that is a long time gone.

I can't see Vick coming back from this, he's going to go down for a couple of years at least and, along with NFL ban, I'd be surprised if by that point anyone will touch with a 10ft poll, good as he is. Shame.

Atlanta Falcons' Michael Vick has pleaded guilty to the charge of organising dog fighting & gambling. Hope he enjoys his stretch in the clinker. I have followed this story every single day since the raid for drugs on the house that Vick got for Davon Boddie. I have spent way too much time on the Falcons board over the past 3 months, so here all I will say is that my 3 Vick Jerseys will not see light of day again and a No98 Anderson Jersey is on it's way. I'm also pleased that I hadn't arranged this years trip to GA. But hey next year I'll be in the Dome cheering on Brohm or Woodson

With DJ going down last week we are in the market for a back-up and I'd seen that Adam Schefter had reported the above move. Personally I'd like to wait and see what the Eagles do because I'm not sure that they go into the season with 4 QBs and I wouldn't have a problem with Holcomb as back-up (if released) Cheers

From todays AJC
The Associated Press
Published on: 08/24/07 A report on ESPN.com quotes an ESPN source saying Falcons quarterback Michael Vick will not admit to killing dogs or gambling on dogfights when he enters a guilty plea in a Richmond, Va., federal court Monday.
The source told ESPN that Vick's defense team met with federal attorneys Thursday afternoon to determine the "summary of facts" to which Vick will plead. But the source says Vick maintains he never killed dogs and never gambled on a dog fight. The source said the quarterback will plead guilty to the charge of interstate commerce for the purpose of dogfighting.
.................................
Monday will be interesting

That would dramatically reduce his sentence/ban if it happens.
Gosh it is good now that Total Access is on sky!

I knew that when somebody started this topic on here I wouldn't be able to keep away from it The latest from the AJC Vick signs plea, admits to sponsoring operationBy BILL RANKIN, JEREMY REDMON The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 08/24/07 Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has signed a plea agreement in which he admits to sponsoring a dogfighting operation and promoting a business enterprise involving gambling. The summary of facts accompanying the plea agreement obtained by the Journal-Constitution says Vick was aware four dogs were killed in 2002 and six to eight dogs were killed this past April as a result of the "collective efforts" of Vick and two of his co-defendants. As for the gambling allegations, the summary said Vick did not gamble by placing side bets on any of the fights" and did not receive any of the proceeds from the purses. But the summary also says that Bad Newz Kennels, which was the dogfighting operation set up and run by Vick and his three co-defendants, won purses when its dogs won fights. Steve Sadow, a prominent Atlanta defense attorney who has followed the case, said he believes Vick's attorneys agreed to the careful phrasing in the summary of facts to help them with their negotiations with the NFL and for public relations. "It's important because of the NFL's gambling policy," Sadow said. "The fact that Michael Vick did not admit to personally killing any dogs in the plea agreement will also have, in my opinion, virtually no significance in the criminal case regarding his ultimate sentence. It's more of a public relations move." The plea agreement states that neither side — the government or Vick — will ask for a sentence below or above the 12- to 18-month sentencing guideline range. It also says prosecutors agreed to recommend a sentence at the "low end" of the range. But all this is not binding on Judge Hudson, who said during a previous plea hearing the facts in the dogfighting case were particularly aggravating.

There's still a chance that Vick could miss just the nest two seasons.
The Prats looked very efficient v Panthers. Only pre-season though...

Cheers for the heads-up. Nice edit BTW! Gotta to avoid the result tomorrow. The game promises to be a shoot-out. I watched the Cal v Tennessee college game like week and it was a perfect warm-up for the big boys. Promises to be a great season. I'm sticking with my Chargers tip. Hopefully JaJesus Russell will ink his $60m contract this week with the Raiders. As they like to say on MNF...... ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!!!!!!!

The Colts look terrifying. I saw some of the game as I'm over here (sat at the airport to come home right now), if they did that to the Saints I dread to think what they're going to do to some teams. Frightening.

Colts were brilliant. Manning showed why he's simply the best QB in the NFL. More significantly, their D stood up.
Roll on 6pm! And Raiders are on the red button. What a great day.
ps Michigans look horrible. How they were ranked in the top 25 I'll never know. They are playing no-tackle D against Oregon!

Michigan look horrible. How they were ranked in the top 25 I'll never know. They are playing no-tackle D against Oregon! I know...fantastic isn't it! ;D Michigan are underperforming, they should be top 5 in reality after Henne and Hart skipped draft as juniors to try and put the pain of last season behind them (beaten at The Shoe and blitzed in a bowl game after an unbeaten season). It seems to be complacency coupled with a shockingly poor D that should be miles better than it has been. Their whole season is now about beating us, they have to go to Wisconsin so winning the Big Ten will be seriously tough leaving our game at the Big House as their main objective. If Lloyd Carr "improves" his rivalry game record to 1-7 he won't have a job in the Spring. Anyway, so sad, poor Michigan, if they keep this up my sides will split. GO BUCKS!

Well what can I say about the birds. 13 all tie and the pack forced to punt from their own 33 or so and our catcher muffs the catch, the pack recover the football in Eagle territory, run down the clock and Heypresto kick a winning field goal with 3 seconds left on the clock. Being a fan of any Philadelphia sports team should come with a government health warning.

3 points and never made the Red Zone It was worst than feared. On the bright side at least my Yellow Jackets are heading up the AP pole, so I think that I might be wearing that Jersey a little more this season Let the Tashard Choice Heisman campaign start right here ;D ;D ;D ;D

The Ravens have to go back to old style power running and strong D. Trying to spread the play cost them against SinCity. The 49s v Cardinals game was poor fair indeed. I expect the 9ers to do well this seaosn but they gotta pick it up fast from that showing. Least they got the W. Other news, JaJesus has finally signed with the Raiders. The Prats have been caught secretly videoing the opposition during Sunday's game. The NFL is likely to dock them a draft pick and lay a fine on them. Apparently they may have been cheating for years which seriously tarnishes their previous success.

Chelsea tapped up Ashley Cole & Arsenal did likewise to Nicholas Anelka while he was at PSG and Pennant when he was at County. Cheating, immoral actions or gamesmanship. Call it what you want. It happens in all sports. You've just got the biggest chip on your shoulder when it comes to the Patriots that it's actaully rather sad for someone with your intellect.

The Pats have been caught and Belichick has issued a public apology. They apparently have been warned about this already. Watch Total Access, Around The Horn or Pardon The Interruption and you'll see just how big this is in the USA. Terrell Davis actually came out and said they should be banned from the post season. Others have called for BB to be suspended for 4 games. I am a regular poster on Pats forums and have great banter with them. I don't like them but I respect them. I respect them a lot less for this. Notably, Pats fans feel the same and have used words like embarrassed and ashamed. They know that this will be used against them as already people say an * should put next to their Superbowl wins. If this level of offence was done in soccer it would be considered a points deduction offence. Gamesmanship this certainly isn't. sports-ak.espn.go.com/nfl/indexGoodell is a tough Commish who is cleaning up the sport. Not the person to cross, especially after the Vick business. I still only expect a loss of a draft pick and a fine but there is a bandwagon for BB's blood. Not only was it cheating but people are offended by the arrogance and stupidity of it. Mangini knew the Pats do it as he was part of it when he coached there. The guy was on the sidelines which means it was hardly well hidden. Green Bay and others had already accused them of this before. Brainless which is part of the reason so many Pats fans are embarrassed. Now the vultures are out because of it... LINK. Bob Kraft is high on respect and character and seeing Leno and Letterman making jokes about Spygate is going to p him off big time. Christ.... it was the Jets.... hardly need to cheat to beat them.
